Maxey has shown he IS that guy in the playoffs vs the Knicks. PG is still an elite shooter off the catch who can punish defenders trying to guard Embiid-Maxey PnR unlike Tobias Harris. The most encouraging thing from media day was hearing Embiid say he's confident in Maxey and wants to empower him to take over this season. Now, Embiid just needs to stay healthy and focus on defense whilst letting Maxey and PG cook!

What teams like Boston and the nuggets have as a huge advantage over Philly is that these teams have had YEARS to gel. It’s such an underrated aspect of the game. And I feel like this year the sixers have that more than than those aforementioned eras. Kenny, it's not just the dropoff in scoring. It's not even the dropoff in efficiency. It's the dropoff in production as a game goes on. Compare his 1st quarters to his 2nd quarters. Then compare those to his 3rd and 4th quarters. It's shocking, tbh. And it's clear it's a stamina problem. Not sure that better teammates solve that. I guess maybe if he has to do less in the rest of the game, he's fresher in the 4th quarter? But I think he just isn't well conditioned enough to play a high minutes load at playoff intensity. I also think his style of game just doesn't lend itself to playoff basketball, but that's a whole different issue.

They also went from mid 20s offense with him out to right back into the top 5 the very first week of Embiid being back, and he looked like he could hardly even walk. He’s just that impactful of a player. They absolutely should not build around Maxey, he is not a number 1.
