My question why when he said he is not great with needles due to being an ex addict did they not give him one of those dexcom things that people attach to their arm?

That would help with regards to finger pricking 8+ a day. Unfortunately for the actual insulin that's an injection. My daughter has libre (cheaper, not as good as dexcom) and 5+ injections daily.

@@25ween thanks for explaining. I didn't know how they worked. I thought the dexcom/libre devices made the finger pricking obsolete because like it automatically tracks insulin levels and injects the insulin when needed and it makes daily life easier. But you seem to know how they work better than me so thank you for explaining that.

Diabetes run in my family. I have seen people die from it, loose limbs,etc.

i do love hollyoaks for these storylines and very grateful they do them, i know the actor will do this justice, but i do ask why hasnt any soap yet done a rheumatoid arthritis storyline in young people or juvenile idiopathic arthritis, so many of us suffer in silence as its not an understood illness and we too have to inject dangerous medications and put ourselves at risk, but this storyline will also help many others, well done to Andrew Still for covering the diabetes storyline x

Elliot Quinn OA I was thinking the exact same thing about Lacey I love her and I think she should have more screen time with others besides Rayne and Romeo like Brooke, Ethan, Mason, Sam, Goldie, Mercedes, Sienna, “Shaw 😏” Nana, John Paul, (or the entire McQueen Family) Ella, Dillon, Leah, Lucas Shannon, Warren and maybe Pearl and Zoe. Oh my OA this looks really worrisome for Joel I don’t remember what that Male nurse said to Joel what kind of diabetes he has and the actor also has irl. I wonder if Cleo was still in the village and she found out about this (considering she’s a nurse as well as Peri) how would she react or what she would do to help him? I wish Misbah was there mostly instead of Shannon but I think since she’s the new boss of the hospital she should probably find a way to rehire Misbah since Leela’s getting her job back as a firefighter. I feel so sorry for Joel and for anyone who’s been through something like this but I do hope it’s not something that’ll kill him cause they’re always killing off the innocent characters in the village and having them leave. 😢
