just my opinion but if you have any interest in tech, I suggest you to join as it specialist and they will train you. True. Back in 1975 I joined at 22 and made E5 (Staff Sergeant) in 3.5 years. To do that, I competed in a program called "Below the Zone" and was selected for early promotion. You CAN: Study-retake ASVAB to get a higher score and change your careerfield DURING your FIRST enlistment. Study what careerfields exist...pros and cons... then make the decision. AND.... IF you don't like your suppervisor, then do something about by getting promoted. Study and you can do it. Also, the US Air Force DOES have military RESORTS In Hawaii and Korea. Cost is based on your rank. Less cost for lower rank.

Unrelated to the Air Force, I signed up for Invisalign and a supposed 1-year commitment and it turned out to be almost 2.5 years and I finally said enough! They didn't work for me and $3.5K down the drain.

Good tip on that invisalign thing. I've been doing back and forth on getting them but now I know I should wait if I want to go to the Air Force. I was seriously wondering how you have such nice teeth when I was watching another video and thought "maybe she had braces as a kid". Invisalign is clearly worth it!

How did you get the recruiters to answer the phone? I've called 3! 😭
@AirmanVision3 жыл бұрын
stop by the office, keep calling, try to reach out via email. Just don't give up, if that is what you want. You already said you have called 3, so just letting you know that you are able to reach out to others that are within a driving distance that works for you. Be sure you are stopping by the office or calling on their work hours (usually 8am-4pm). Their phones are always ringing, while working with people they already have in their system. So don't let that get you down! A lot of people are trying to get ahold of them, so call multiple times a day if that is what it takes. and LEAVE A MESSAGE!! Telling them your name and call back number, that you want to join and would love to set up an appointment

I almost joined the Navy years ago, but I suffered a foot injury and had to heal it. Now that it's perfectly healed again, I'm trying out for the Airforce or Navy again. The Airforce is my first choice, however the Navy understands that everyone's body is different and goes by measurements. Time will tell. I'm currently 27 and has lost 18 lbs so far to join a branch.

In college this one guy knew joined after the first semester. I wanted to join but I meet some friends who made my stay on campus better which eventually I kinda lost motivation due to feeling like it was pointless and other reason. Still want to finish school but with the military. I’m really not trying to spend my youth dreaming to join if i want to join no matter what my parents say.

@geoffreybeach3 жыл бұрын
@@AirmanVision ok so you’re saying I can enlist after I complete and pass the physical exam?
@AirmanVision3 жыл бұрын
@@geoffreybeach yes, but you need to make sure your recruiter knows you have Invisalign before you go to MEPS, if he/she doesn't already. If they knew, they should have told you that you will need a letter from your orthodontist, saying the date you will have them removed. They will look at your teeth at MEPS, so just be sure your recruiter knows before you go
@wesrm13 жыл бұрын
@@AirmanVision Can't you just leave your Invisalign off for BMT? It would slow the progress of teeth alignment but it's only a few weeks, right? Or you can't have Invisalign AT ALL while enlisted? Do they just not want someone fiddling around with it while at BMT?

I’m 25, single dad of one 6 year old thinking about joining. Does the Air Force also require single parents to sign over parental rights ??
@AirmanVision3 жыл бұрын
NO! You do have to sign a paper showing that you have someone that is able to take care of your child while you're gone. BUT, since I haven't gone through that (we don't have kids) a recruiter will have more accurate information for you. But single parents DO join!

very cool deal that you're finally doing it! i'm trying to get in to honor my grandpa who was a lt. col. usaf pilot. recruiters definitely giving me the run around. they are saying there are zero officer spots but i can go enlisted anytime. however the navy says come on in they'll give me an officer spot. so now i'm having trouble deciding...
@AirmanVision3 жыл бұрын
that is true. Air Force OTS is VERY selective and I know they don't have anymore spots open this year. So if you want to go officer and are fine with joining another branch, go for it! If you specifically want to join Air Force...maybe try enlisted BUT do what you think is best for you!
