Thoroughly enjoyed this video. Didn't know you got Coalfish so far south, have shot lots off Skye and Oban but never seen them where I live in North Wales. Have often picked a Coalfish over a larger Pollock, definately taste better!

Spent a few weeks on Bryhah working unfortunately but did get to do a bit of snorkeling . Awesome beautiful place. Will definitely be trying the smoked mullet. Thanks for sharing

Awesome video Joe! I noticed you’ve gone from the carbon Pathos to the RA. Any reason why? I’m currently tossing between a Rob Allen, Pathos Saragos 82 and the Salvimar Hero. Could you give me any insight as I’d value it massively before blowing the bank! Ps. Will be for Dorset waters predominantly!

Just personal preference really Sam. The thing I love about the Rob Allen is how durable it is as well as how accurate 👍 Any of the above will be great. I just remember the pathos being very fiddly to arrange the line not the best design

Hi Joe, I went spearfishing in salcombe yesterday caught a big bass and a similar sized mullet both were slightly more than half a metre long. I did a quick bit of googling and apparently it's not the best to eat estuary mullet but I'm now slightly concerned about eating the bass too because it was gutted with the same knife, kept in the same cool bag and then filleted with the same knife on the same chopping board. Should I toss the bass as well or will it be safe to eat. I've kept it in the fridge since yesterday so it's not fresh fresh but still quite fresh

Sorry I just seen your question! Bass will be fine! No problem you can eat the mullet just don't taste the best 😀
