Freedom & Independence. Play regional rivals and a national schedule. Just abolish the conferences & admit that Notre Dame has been doing it the right way. Penn State’s last National Championship came when they were an Independent, before joining the B1G 10/18. If you want to discuss “fair”, let’s look into the monopoly stranglehold that ESPN has on the CFP and the broadcast of all bowl games.

ND didn’t load their schedule with soft games. They played Army because Miami backed out. It’s also not their fault Florida State, Stanford and USC all suck this year.

If Notre Dame played an ACC football schedule they would be criticized for playing a WEAK schedule. Yet Clemson is heralded
