Great pickin’ Joe! I love that tune. Reminds me that you and Richard Smith did some incredible playing over it in another video at the Gretsch 130 anniversary.

I think all your '58 stereo Gretsch videos were made the same day. Hope there's more to be seen! I ordered the Across the Universe tabs online for $4 which is great except the tabs don't indicate when you should pick it or strum it, so I hàve to refer back to the video. Will probably purchase more songs in the future.

Excellent choice of tune(s) given the "circumstances" . You are getting mighty chummy with that Gretsch : )

@@Joe_Robinson Yeah, and I found one for sale up here in the North West.. While not green, but sunburst, it's tempting. You may know of the guitar and the video demonstrating the guitar. Coincidental ?

Are you using flat-wound strings on the Gretsch Joe?
@Joe_Robinson4 жыл бұрын
Hi Rob! Just round wound on this guitar.. G is wound though. Would be cool to try flats on this guitar!
@hortonro4 жыл бұрын
@@Joe_Robinson the strings seem to be very low-noise for round-wound, thus the reason for my question. Stay well and safe Joe.

I dislike medleys of unconnected tunes (even if Chet Atkins played them all) . I remember at an All Star guitar night about 20 years ago, a bunch of really good artists such as Richard Smith, Martin Taylor and Jim Nichols were there and then some young guitarist from Europe, I guess was introduced who proceeded to play a bunch of snippets from the easy parts of Chet Atkins tunes. When Jim Nichols got on stage he said sarcastically that he was going to play a medley of all the tunes in western music. He got a laugh with that quip.
