I watched her fight first, then in one of her first movies, in a fight scene, she fell comfortably into a ready stance that I’d seen a dozen times right before she put someone’s lights out in a real fight. She was the first star that brought eyes to women's MMA and made it popular. The general public didn't give a rats ass about women's MMA until Gina came on the scene. So while it did exist there's a high chance the UFC/Bellator/ONE would have never adopted women's divisions without seeing the star power Gina Carano had at that time.
