I love that she told Dana to fuck off. The UFC often puts fighters in shitty situations where they have very little prep time for a fight and also have a ton of media engagements, while simultaneously paying them less of the market share than any other major sporting league like the NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL. Watching her in movies it's easy to forget that Gina was a bad ass. 13 Mui Thai fights in Thailand going 12-1 and was the first star of women's MMA.
@micahprice28072 жыл бұрын
I watched her fight first, then in one of her first movies, in a fight scene, she fell comfortably into a ready stance that I’d seen a dozen times right before she put someone’s lights out in a real fight. How hard is it to pull a punch after every instinct from that stance for years says “take a head off...” I got shivers watching it and knew I could never act in a fight scene against her. My survival instinct is too high XD. She’s great though. This was a great podcast!

But stop pretending this was not a politically biased decision, because progressives in the company made similar, even more direct comparisons to Nazi Germany (Pedro Pascal did it twice) and they faced no consequences for it. @@shawnarnold9972 I'd say you're grossly wrong for trying to deny the impact Gina Carano made for women's MMA? Did it exist? Yes. Was it popular? Hell to the fuck no. She was the first star that brought eyes to women's MMA and made it popular. The general public didn't give a rats ass about women's MMA until Gina came on the scene. So while it did exist there's a high chance the UFC/Bellator/ONE would have never adopted women's divisions without seeing the star power Gina Carano had at that time.

If she and Rhonda came back and did a fight it would easily be one of the biggest sellers of all time. It'd be huge. I doubt it's ever going to happen though. They both are successful out of MMA now and it's hard to see them giving it up to train for a year.
