How deeply admire his work and am truly grateful for the artistic displays he's put on TV but I truly found his stories absolutely abhorrent and lacking in humor and pace. It felt like he put too much emphasis on his importance in the story and not enough emphasis on whether or not the story is good period his jokes were horrible and he's got a relatively big head about his acting life. I'm not being hypocritical it's just how I perceived him. Still a pretty good listen and I love everything he's in

Unlike others who use these kind of interviews as marketing potential, hoping to score another big role, Crowe (a Kiwi) is very laid back, not fussed either way, if it happens it happens, his enjoyed what his done, what he has, just enjoying life. Aussies Paul Hogan, Eric Bana, Guy Pearce, Sam Worthington, are similar interviews, if Rogan ever gets them. Heath Ledger would have been a good one, RIP. Others like Hemsworth, Jackman, Robbie, get awkward talking about themselves, ham it up too much to compensate.

I think the boxing talk broke the rhythm and it became more give and take. Joe's genuine care for Crowe's well-being was touching. In the end both of them proved to be optimists even with the current climate. Their mutual feelings regarding fatherhood was also touching. I'm a 72 yr old woman and this just felt really good. I remember seeing Russell Crowe at a movie theatre in Sydney. I thought, 'Oh wow, my chance to meet him!' As I approached, I noticed he was with his young son, who seemed overwhelmed by the movie they were watching. When I was about five steps away, I immediately stopped and turned around. The excitement of meeting a legend quickly turned into the thought of him possibly being upset with me for interrupting a special moment between him and his son.

During filming of a tense scene I laughed as a fellow extra cracked a joke under his breath - "Cut! Cut! Cut!, the kid in the blue hat laughed"....I wanted the world to open up and engulf me...Russell came up later and couldn't stop laughing. Said it was the funniest thing he had seen for a long time! You’re the goat JR. I love how you let your guests speak without interruption. In today’s world that is a rare gift. I hope you keep doing what you’re doing and how you do it. I appreciate you every day sir

This was everything I'd hoped the Dennis Quaid episode would have been. I don't think they discussed a single one of his movies other than Lincoln. This was a fantastic conversation and I really enjoyed everything about it.

I laughed when Joe brought up Dennis Quaid, as I'm sure Russell had an affair with Meg Ryan when she was with Dennis.

Russel crowe was my grandmother's favorite actor for as long as i can remember, shes passed for a bit now so i tried to feel as though she wanted me to watch this so she could see it through my eyes. Bit crazy i know but it was nice to feel her presence once again even in a small way.

I used to watch Cinderella man with my mom all the time as a child, and gladiator with my dad. Two movies i remember vividly from my childhood. Two absolute classics

My absolute favorites as well. They won’t make any more movies like these ever again.

wow. i could listen to these two guys talk for hours and hours! so easy, so smooth. Russel is the best. His voice is so calm. Best episode :-)
