AWESOME VIDEO Joe! Excellent video addendum/addition to my top 5! Great point about 'buying the dealership' and not the tractor! No doubt! I am so glad that you continued on and issued the challenge to the 3 other guys because to be honest, my list could have been the top 15, but between each of us we will surely help new tractor buyers to avoid all of our mistakes during our own learning curves of tractor ownerships! Loved the 'pin on proprietary' loader attachment! And of course, yes I totally agree with your top 5! Looking forward to see if/when the next 3 channels add to our lists! Thanks brother!

Listening to you talk about humidity reminds me of how much I despise summer. I suppose if I had a cab I wouldn’t hate heat so much. But then I couldn’t fit it in my garage or workshop.

i got a 2022 tym t494 from mike, the nice thing about tym 3rd function is they use hard lines to the loader. a cutting edge is cheap and makes a huge difference. i have a fransgard log grapple and like to play in the woods of central ny so the cab is an issue for me. hydraulic top link a great buy for $250

Great run down. Thanks for sharing your expense logic ( how much it costs over the life of the machine). Makes sense. Reminds me of a 4-door Cherokee I bought years ago with roll up windows because I didn’t want to pay for power windows. I have tried to use that lesson & apply it on every purchase since.

Hey Joe new to your channel as well as Kappers . I’m in South Louisiana and own a lawn care business and I’m thinking about adding a tractor and batwing to my fleet . I was looking at a NS 6010 cab but after watching you and kapper with the Rx7320 , I’m sold on it . I actually went look at one and drove it yesterday . Fell in love with it . And I wouldn’t own a tractor without a cab cause it gets hot as hell down here . Down here everybody tints their windows on their cab tractors to keep it a lil cooler . That would be the only other thing I would add after you and kapper said the five things .
@JoeTheFarmer

Hey! Welcome to the channel! I am very happy with the RX and the cab is 💯 non negotiable for me. You actually get more out of the purchase for a little more money. And, tractors are a long term purchase. Get the one you want because it will be with you for a while! Good luck on the business and keep in touch!

I just bought a new tractor. I got the 2024 LS 242 CH. YES it has the cap, having 3rd function added. I did see in your video I might add a few more toys to my new toy. I also have a 65 messy ferguson 35. It was my dad's. World of different between the two. Can't wait for the new tractor to be Delivered. Waiting on them to add the 3rd Function For my new grapple. I don't know a lot about LS Tractors, hoping I got a good one. I did look at all the brands. $ was right onthe LS , WITH WHAT I ADDED. HAVE A GREAT DAY AND KEEP TRACTORING.

All great points. I was a D.A. when I bought my Kubota. I did not get the third function because I did not think I would ever need a grapple. I simply ran hoses back to my remotes when I did get a grapple They are tucked in out of sight and cable tied in place Although my system works well and at a fraction of the cost, I have to operate 2 levers I have even added a post/ tree puller to my equipment arsenal now, so you are absolutely right about the 3rd function.

Great video Joe, as always. I agree with the point you were making about spending a few dollars or even a few thousand dollars more, it it makes the tractor's and your production more efficient. For some folks, it's not the initial $50,000.00 that hurt as bad as the $1500.00 3d Function. Pick an excellent dealer, decide what you need for your property, get a fair price, and just rip the band-aid off. -Mike-

Thanks for the video. All great options. One thing I found on the third function is, some manufacturer's factory installed 3rd function uses a diverter valve instead of a true 3rd function valve. I'm glad I got a true 3rd function setup because I often run the 3rd function and the bucket roll at the same time, which you can't do with a diverter valve. There are also switch-kits available to allow continuous flow at the 3rd function for running hydraulic motors on attachments out on the loader.

Howdy Joe. My 7320 developed a problem the other day. Fired it up to run the AC a minute before heading to mow hay and noticed a fairly bad hydraulic leak. Got a bit freaked out but it turns out was just an o-ring. Was the return line from the joystick valve. Easy repair to do myself. 560 hours, first issue. Not bad

I have used both but I prefer the John Deere quick attach loader system. The system you have almost made me drop a bucket on my foot. I totally agree with the choice of a cab but it was $7000 for my John Deere. For me the cab was for the opposite weather condition. I use a front mounted snow blower and have been out plowing in -30 degrees with just a light jacket on and still comfortable.

Excellent justification for all five upgrades, and I couldn't agree more with the exception of #5. I have an open station tractor and feel that I don't need the heat in the winter, living in the South, and I enjoy the open air regardless of the heat in the summer. I put only about 80 hours per year on my machine, so I'm not making a living on it where climate control is important. Additionally, I do considerable mowing in areas that have overhanging limbs that would interfere with a cab, and I don't feel the need to groom the trails and firebreaks to accommodate that feature. To each his own....

Good video. I'm also a Kioti fan. I own three of them currently (one is also the RX7320 cab). One thing you left out was synchro-shuttle. The ability to go from forward to reverse with one lever is very helpful. I don't buy the power-robbing hydrostatic models, and I guess I'm in the minority for this. I owned one a few years ago and traded it in within the first year. It's very limiting for what you can do with your tractor. I would also add four wheel drive to the must haves. Even so, this is a great explanation video.

How come you have your bucket tipped completely under? I don't even think this is possible with my Kubota although I would never try it because having worked in Service & warranty at a Skid Steer loader Manufacturer, I do know that this is a sure way to bend tilt Cylinders. I would not pay any warranty claims for bent cylinders when I was there. We designed stops to try and prevent this but people would still find a way to over extend the cylinders and bend them. I agree with most of your picks but cost is still a consideration and with the smaller tractors the cab can be almost 1/2 the price of the tractor putting it well beyond my means when I purchased my B2601 Kubota tractor. I modified an old tube and canvas cab that I got for free and hope to get a better one manufactured when I find the time.

Rear remotes can be used to run front implements. $1500 for a front remote? Insanity. Adding rear remotes is not rocket science. Sorry you had a bad experience at a Deere dealer. My dreaded Green tractor has needed nothing beyond basic maintenance in almost 2k hours. Pick out a non dealer stocked part, and let's have a race to see who can get in their hands first. Quick hitches are much cheaper away from a dealer. Good dealers are great until they drop the brand or close. Buy once and cry once.

Remotes aren’t that bad and don’t mind paying to have it set up right the first time. I don’t dislike Deere, they are actually very nice. Just ridiculously overpriced in my opinion. Glad it has served you well and that you enjoy your machine.
