Genuine question asked in good faith - What is wrong with using the term 'gateway game' ?

We don't use gateway often, because we aren't trying to use these games to get people to play the "real", "deeper", games. These games aren't a "gateway" to something more. Rather, they are just simpler, fun games that many people will enjoy. Zee coined the word "welcoming", and I'm sticking with it.

Games come out at different times in different countries. I think it could be easy to mess up what is the relevan release time for these videos.

I think Thunder Road Vendetta is the game that has shown up the most on top ten lists during the last week/year. I wonder if one of my FLGS's has a copy because I should just go buy it today.

I must like your list Joey i have few these. I want get Wandering towers. Thunder Road Vendetta is on Christmas list for one my kids. I have 7 wonders Artiect, and Marvel United. Just got Disney Dixit for my son for birthday gift. He been wanting since we demo it at convention i took him.

I actually find the rules for Thunderoad Vendetta more difficult than one would assume, it is not that difficult but it is much... It takes longer than one thinks to teach that game. Wandering Towers is a great choice for this list...

I feel like if you’re new to the hobby you haven’t really played any games so a list of best welcoming games of all time would be more useful than a best of the year list.
