Sucker Punch has their own engine FYI. I did find one website that was claiming that GoT was UE5, but everywhere else seems to say it's their own in-house engine, which is pretty amazing.

Dude they're pulling a Dread Pirate Robert's. The mantle of the ghost has now been past down for centuries and is becoming an Urban Legend. This way they could put a "Ghost" in any Japanese time period for any war they want and create their own mythical tale of a badass they dubbed "The Ghost." Smart fucking move. RIP Jin Sakai

And my guess is we'll see Jin Sakai in one of those Mythic Quests that go into legendary Japanese figures, and that could even be the explanation for why we have the Ghost Stance.

I think its smart they didnt do jin again. Cause if it was then it might’ve felt too simialr to the first game. He would’ve been in the mainland fighting Kublai Khan & the rest of the mongols. Good idea but probably best to revisit that in a 3rd game so it doesnt feel repetitive. Either way LETS FUCKING GOOOOO!!! Better have a Legends 2 in it

I decided to remake my comment for those who might be confused about the game: - YŌTEI takes time in 1603, this is far from Jin's story, that takes place in 1247. - YŌTEI is the mount behind the cover and it stays in Japan, so the map may be way bigger than Tsushima - The Wolf might be our guide spirit, just like the Fox was in Tsushima - She wields 2 blades now and wear clothes like a Ronin, she is not a samurai Joey my brother, I hope they give to you the beta tester or something like that, you deserve this, much love bro God bless

Minor error the story is set in 1274 not 1247, simple mistake but an important detail.

3:46 I'm also positive about this one The protagonist looks a lot like Yuna, wears a mask like Jin and also is guided by wind. Also Yuna talked sometime with Jin about going back to her home. Now that Jin was exiled and wanted dead for being the Ghost he most likely accepted to go with Yuna to her Home, Yotei, and this is probably someone from their bloodline.

@@SifOfTheAbyss890 I think you were referring to how Yuna talked about how she and her brother planned to escape the island to live somewhere in the mainland. They were born in a village near Yarikawa but was raised in it.

@@samuraijackoff5354 I have a faint memory of her in act 3 in the snowy area, waiting for Jin to talk about how to plan the attack against the Khan, and she suddenly gave Jin the idea to escape the island and go somewhere else, but I'm still not really sure though

The first game took place in 1274, this is 1603. There's no possible way this is Jins daughter. Maybe his descendant but I doubt it. I think the more likely possibility is that Atsu (that's her name) is not directly related to Jin Sakai but will come to inherit the mantle and legacy of The Ghost. But just like Ezio in Assassin's Creed 2 she'll be doing it her own way. The Ghost transcends Jin Sakai and she will be our new one.

The mongols first attacked in 1274, ghost of yōtei apparently takes place in 1603 based on the trailer and the fact she uses a gun. Perhaps she's a descendant of jhin but we are talking like generations of an ex-samurai since the shogun decreed sakai clan is no longer samurai by the end of the first game. She does seem more ronin like then samurai so perhaps there's merit to the theory, but sounds a little far fetch since without a proper clan, there isn't going to be much documentation and record keeping of who is from who, but I could be wrong. Also yôtei is the name of a mountain in the island of Hokkaido which is the very top part of mainland japan. Tsushima is a small island near the bottom of japan. Jhin would've had to make some serious traveling in mainland japan where he is a fugitive, and for what? His home and his people is in tsushima. Why would he leave? She does use the chain ninja weapon called a kusarigama which probably means jhin left a legacy of ninjas and either this girl is a distant relative of jhin or a student of his ways and we'll probably see a league of ninjas who will mentor her. There's a different clan symbol in place of where the sakai clan symbol was. It's most probably the symbol that belonged to her clan that was disgraced by the shogun or killed off by another clan, probably from a clan vs clan war and this game is her revenge story.

Joey this may not be a sequel because when the Mongols attacked Japan was in 1274 and this takes places in 1603 so idk bro 😭(im still getting it anyway)
