Una hermosa obra, de un compositor prácticamente desconocido en nuestro medio. Gracias por compartir, sibarit101!

Brbvo! Thank you for uploading another symphony in D major, not OP.25 in D major. I will add it to my Johann Evangelist Brandl playlist.

I see Brandl no more than a contemporary of Haydn and Mozart. I don't discover any real similarities but the work is definitely worth it. Dear Yulia I strongly hope that peace will come as soon as possible because what the world needs now is love sweet love. Stay strong!

Thank you, dear Pieter. You know that I post mostly from the music of lesser-known composers, composers that I consider unfairly forgotten. That's why I posted from Brandl's music again. I do not know what to say about the current difficult and tragic situation, only that my hopes in reason are waning (I don't know more than what I see on TV). But I am confident that in this refugee crisis the whole of Europe will show its humanity. I'm OK for now, but I'm waiting for the astronomical spring to enter, maybe this period of gloomy and cold weather will end. Thanks again, I wish you all the best!

Thanks for uploading. Forward looking in some respects, the first movement sounds more Sturm und Drang than Haydn and Mozart so points towards Beethoven. However, some of the other bits are not up to Haydn's great standard for the time, IMHO. Enjoyable nonetheless!

Leider ein ziemlich vergessener Komponist den man sich merken muss. Alles Unglück beginnt wenn man vergleicht: J.E. Brandl soll einfach für sich stehen, denn die Musik hat genügend Dramatik und Eigenständigkeit.

Thanks, I agree with you. Influences in music were inevitable, but each composer had his own personality. In their time, many of them were highly regarded, and each of these unjustly forgotten composers had his heyday. Comparisons between composers are unfair and are made by those who today consider the music of Mozart, Beethoven or Haydn a standard or reference point.
