Yes, Yulia; I hope when the world (or Putin) comes to it's senses, you will be OK. And all the rest of us, for that matter. Thank you for uploading all the fine and interesting music you have. This Concerto has all the strengths and weaknesses of Hummel; beautiful and exciting moments and phrases/melodies, often outweighed and over-balanced by empty technical writing for the sake of 'form' and virtuosity. Reasons to love, reasons to have fallen out of fashion and out of concert halls. But, worthy of respect, and the occasional 'airing' out in performance. All the best!

The versions of Shelly and Lahusen are absolutely different but there is no real preference as far as I'm concerned. As you know Hummel belongs to my favorites so I'm realy glad with the performance. These days I'm thinking a lot to you dear Yulia. On the borders of your great country are horrific actions going on. I dearly hope that you will be and stay safe. Let's all pray for a quick and peaceful solution.

Thank you very much, my friend. It seems that Lahusen's version was the first recording of this concert, but there are assumptions that Hummel himself was not too happy with this concerto either. Whatever the truth, I like the concert, just as I like all of Hummel's music. Of course my country is obviously worried. And I am too, especially since, as you know, I live in a port city of the Black Sea ... For now, all we can do is help the refugees, many cross the border on foot ... It's a painful reality. I pray in these very dark moments, as everyone else does, and I hope that reason will triumph.

La nostra "Chef musicale" ha preparato, con grande sapienza, questa prelibatezza per le nostre orecchie (purtroppo oggi abituate alle esplosioni di bombe). Hummel è un autore che a me piace in particolar modo, sa essere leggero e profondo al contempo. È stato sfortunato perché si è scontrato con Sua Maestà Beethoven. Rimane sicuramente un grandissimo dello spartito ! Ottima interpretazione del giovane pianista.
