I'm 76 and started learning cello right before the Covid lockdown. I'm enjoying it immensely, and am only sorry I didn't start sooner. I've played both violin and viola long ago , but I must say that for me, (at this stage in my life), the cello is the most fulfilling by far Instrument for the soul!

A million poets and more be born to pay homage to Bach's deeds. This is what I had wrote through the middle of the video. But I only could say that because of Annabel. For an instant a sorrow caught me. Annabel, if you ever wanted to master the violoncelo, if you ever wanted to dive deep into Bach's music and bring it to life with perfection, if you ever wanted to touch the soul of any human anywhere with your nature given talent and honoured work upon it, you have made it! So young, so bright, so perfect! I can only wish that there are many out there that can provide to you the same that you had provide to me and many more: meaning. Wherever you are, how ever you feel: Thank you from all my heart. That you may always reinvent yourself, go on the path that you wish, overcome everything, and be in peace and joy. One more time, thank you.

Haha. Last year I learned to play the Gavotte en Rondeau part from Partita No.3 transposed for guitar and at about the 24 minute mark I was like "Hey". Turns out from looking at the "track list" this is a Gavotte lol. Currently learning the cello suites transposed for the bass (haha half way through the prelude of No.1). I'll never be great or even good, but it brings so much joy to just play and even greater joy to listen to brilliant musicians like Annabel Hauk. I also have to add that it is pretty "METAL" when she uses her thumb on the finger board!!!

As a drummer, I've been heavily into rock/metal, then funk/jazz/fusion, pop/progressive. Never was a fan of Classical, but approaching my 30s, I've come to love it. It feels like after going through various relationships, I've come round to meet my true love - Classical music! I ditched the piano as soon as my parents gave up on my continuous attempt to skip classes, but I've started again👍 Just loving the simple yet beautiful sound of a single cello in this video.
