This is the most masterful interpretation of Johann Strauss’s music. The same quality can only be found with the performances of Carlos Kleiber, i.e. not too slow, not too fast. The Wiener Philharmony is divine as usual. I enjoy this enregistrement immensely. Thank you for posting it.

Three hours of musical ecstasy from a remarkable composer of the waltz genre who is world famous for his unique Blue Danube. Hats off to Johann Strauss II, his immortal compositions, the Krauss orchestra that played them and your link that had brought us these gems.

Clemens Krauss was a master when it came to the Strauss family (apart from the fact that the surnames of these rhymes), very elegant, relaxed and serious, you really appreciate the beauty of these waltzes and polka, as a big fan of the Strauss and their contemporaries, I declare this album as an ABSOLUTE REFERENCE, especially nice for the advent of the New Year's Concert in Vienna. PROSIT NEUJAHR!
