Especially given that 99.9% of his songs were about love and romance. That was his strength and focus in terms of subject matter musically. You never if ever heard him sing a song about politics or anything outside of love ballads. And it's almost as if his speaking voice is completely different from his singing voice. His singing voice would sing about ballads while his speaking seems to go in many directions and speaks about anything but love and romance. He would dodge talking about love fearing that it would intrude his privacy and love life. And so in place of that, he talked about his career and singing techniques and the idols and influenced him.

Mr. Vandross. What a wealth of talent. I'm finding more and more videos of him speaking/talking, sharing information, answering questions and encouraging people. I'm so enlightened by this particular video because of a truth that is very familiar to me; the entertainment industry is very brutal. One really must be prayerful and tenacious, to say the least, to make it. The key ingredient as noted by Mr. Vandross is talent; either you have it or you don't. I thank God for his life. He left an enduring legacy via such media as KZbin. Thank you for posting them. Death has no power over his legacy and the messages he left for anyone willing to hear and learn. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

All that matters is talent, not a persons sexual preference. I'm a sinner too so I am in no position to judge and condemn anyone, people should be free to live their life how ever they want as long as they're not hurting someone else. IF (he never admitted it) Luther Vandross was gay he was born to early because today it doesn't matter. Woman are going to do almost everything and anything they can to get next to you if you can sing like Luther, though we all know they'll never be another Luther, ever! Singing is an aphrodisiac for women but so is money, fame and good looks. Women can be extremely shallow but it is what it is. I still love them.
