The guitar player you're talking is about is named Hide, so it makes sense that his guitar is "hide-ous" He died tragically a short while after X-Japan broke up, and this was a huge deal in Japan at the time since he was a bit of a cult hero. 50,000 people attended his funeral, and his hometown had a museum commemorated for him.

This live was not in 80's. It's in very late 90's. Hide the lead gutarist had a unique style on his cloth, hair, make up including his guitars. Hide's guitar wasn't awful you just don't have a sense of fashion. The most important thing is they are the best!!!! You're so underrated them. Queen and kiss highly admired their musical abilities and technics they even collaborated with them. Gene Simmons once said that if X Japan were born in America they would have been the biggest band in the world. Please be open minded.

First of all, I wanna thank u for watching JP movie. Xjapan is like a kind of legend band group coz of the amazing paform and the skill... in addition they were very kind to anyone. Hide who is a guitterlist had been cared children fiscally challenged. We are respected that their spirits as well.

Drummer wrecked his neck headbanging lol doctors said he should stop drumming, but as a compromise he wore a neck brace instead... I think he had some special neck surgery recently... Hopefully he’ll get better soon, but I think he can’t drum much at the moment. Though to some extent it’s amazing that he’s alive.

If I remember correctly the doctors didn't think he would even get past the baby stage, as fragile his body is. I don't think his neck will never be OK, at least last time I saw him he was still wearing a scarf. Or maybe that's to not show the scars ?

Silent Jealousy, Rose of Pain or even Dahlia could be good picks to see what they really got.

The fact that you keep mentioning they are from the 80s, but isn't even open-minded enough to accept the fashion sense of HIDE, just shows how creative and advanced they are as a band lol. HIDE is one of the highest-rated guitarists ever and is progressive even to this day

Rusty Nail doesn't really show their abilities. Their are actually good technically. The drummer is also the one who creates most of the songs, so it makes sense. He also plays piano, they also have a song like November Rain of Guns of Roses (it's called Endless Rain, some think GnR might have used it as their inspiration). So probably he also recorded the keyboard. X-Japan is like the Japanese Metallica, in terms of fame. X-Japan has been a big inspiration for Babymetal. You can see that especially on the first album. But X-Japan wasn't doing to continue. As the name says The Last Live, one member was leaving them band. I think they had already lost an other member shortly before. X-Japan were like hair-metal, this was them in casual clothing. :-) X-Japan was part of a the Visual kei movement in Japan. It's kind of like the visual version of a music sub-genre. I think most Visual kei bands did all kinds of rock and metal. But their visual style was hair-metal turned up to 11. ;-) The drummer's body has always been fragile from a very early age (the doctors thought he wouldn't live long as a baby). And because of performing as part of X-Japan, he broke his neck through headbanging, the doctor said he should never perform again. He performed with a neck brace after that. The song Babymetal Headbanager also includes the use of a neck brace as an homage to (drummer) Yoshiki of X-Japan. When it comes to a much more technical songs, I think X-Japan Kurenai (Crimson Moon) would be a good choice. Babymetal Akatsuki (Red Moon) is a kind of tribute to them. The Last Live of X-Japan was performed at Tokyo Dome, the biggest/prestigious indoor venue in Japan. X-Japan performed some 12 times or something at Tokyo Dome. Big bands perform multiple nights after each other, X-Japan used colors in names of their shows, Babymetal does the same when they perform 2 nights at a venue and have a different setlist: it's Black Night and Red Night. Babymetal had their own Black- and Red Night at Tokyo Dome. They played all the songs from both of the albums they had over those 2 nights. I think Babymetal feels they kind of need to continue the legacy, Suzuka the main singer was actually born on the year and month of the Last Live. Like some sign from the universe. X-Japan Kurenai (Last Live ? I'm no expert in best performances/videos of X-Japan) and Babymetal Akatsuki (Budokan) are definitely worth it to check out. When Babymetal performed in the Netherlands, they performed at venues where X-Japan (venue in the middle of the country) and Judas Priest (venue south of the Netherlands) had performed as well. Nothing was mentioned, but I don't think it's without reason. Babymetal that same tour as they performed at that venue Judas Priest had performed in the Netherlands also performed at the venue famous among Priest fans: Hammersmith Odeon/Eventim Apollo in the UK (the name of the venue has changed over time). Clearly people who respect their elders in Japan still exist. I think I might have written enough. :-)

☕always wear steel soles. I found X Japan through the covers of their songs "X", "Rusty Nail", "Dahlia" and Kurenaj". X Japan may look a bit over the top, but they were an exellent band. I am a big fan of nemophilas drummer Tamu ( her drumming and her smile are amazing). she did an amazing cover of "Rusty Nail" and other songs with their friends. if you want to compare :" X JAPAN - Rusty Nail (Full Band Cover 2019)" first I thought it was the original singer, it is really good (and without ugly guitars)

I am glad you did this but I hope you give them another chance. They play many types of music, from the symphonic rock masterpiece Art of Life to almost thrash metal songs like Standing Sex to almost cheesy but beautiful ballads like Without You. They were as big as the Beatles were in the UK, and changed the very culture of Japan.

This is an amazing song but I think it's better to hear the studio version the first time, as with most songs. You miss out on a lot of the melody due to the sound quality. And the bass, clearly
