I loved what you said about verses 5. Another thought I had while studying this chapter was that (in the NLT version) it says the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it. It immediately made me think of Jesus' resurrection. I love the foreshadowing!

I had no idea starting in verse 35-49 that two of Jesus disciples were first disciples by John and then they immediately followed Jesus one of them being Andrew! I’m sure that was obvious to many as it clearly says it in the text but that always went over my head when reading and I just think that’s so interesting and cool! How John began preparing people’s hearts for the coming messiah and these guys were ready and eager to follow Jesus when John was like “guys this is Him!!”

To whoever’s reading this, Jesus loves you! Seek him and all your answers will be answered, all your problems will be solved. There’s nothing and no one more powerful then God, he was always here so trust him, he knows what he’s doing. He has a great plan for all of us. When you pray to him for something and you don’t get it it’s not because he didn’t listen to your prayer, it’s because what you’ve asked for doesn’t fit in what he has planned for you already. Say you had a kid or you already have a kid..if they ask you for something that you know is not good for them would give them it even if you know it’s bad for them? No same goes with God. We are all children of God. God listens to every prayer. Put your trust in God, every problem you have or worry no matter how small it is go to him, he doesn’t judge. He forgives your sins just like you should forgive people who do you wrong. He hears every thought of yours and he’s there with you and for you even if you don’t know it. Every time you’ve cried he was there by your side supporting you. God is love. Jesus was disrespected, beat, made fun of, ignored, betrayed, lied to, sold, and way more, died on the cross for our sins because he loves us, even though people did him wrong he didn’t use violence or anger or anything in return. But what he did use was love and love should be our only weapon and most powerful too. Treat everyone with love and kindness because you never know what God has sent them here for. Hello I just found you on KZbin and followed you I'm would like to ask you if you would pray for me you see I'm a 66 year old country boy who had a hard life I do believe and love Jesus but I had to end up staying with my daughter and her family and I'm the only one in the house who is a believer and there are time when the household acts like I can't do anything right I have to set here and watch all the bad things happening but I can't say anything about Jesus or the Bible I'm sorry for such a long story but feel I needed to let you know what I am going through I ask for prayer for a little more of the Holy Spirit and that God will make me stronger in my Faith think you God bless you

I don’t think it’s right because when speaking to those who have crossed, you never truly know who you are speaking to, honestly 9 times out of 10 doing so opens the door for more negative entities, cause they are in search & hungry for light, & the whole manifesting thing, I’m not sure if this is correct but when I started to get into it, I kept feeling like I’m messing up what God already has planned for me so that I can have something that I want now(but what I want normally isn’t what I need) so to me I kept thinking about physics, energy cannot be created nor destroyed but it can transfer (for example, using electricity for hair drying, the electric energy is transferred as heat now, same energy (tho it’s not as effective because the state of electric power is more efficient than fire power when in equal amounts) but it’s no longer in the same state, so I thought that with manifesting, you’re taking the positive energy from another significant future moment in your life & attracting it towards the now so you can reap all those benefits when you want to, but because you can’t see the future, you can’t see how much you’ve shifted your future because of the manipulation of energy here, you’re going to have all the “great” things you think you want without knowing you took an even better opportunity from yourself to have what you want now Honestly I’d suggest to just trust in Gods timing, literally it’s the hardest thing to do, to give up control, but He always has our best interest at heart & if it aligns with what He has for you & your life, He will give it to you, but not in our time, He knows us better than we know ourselves, who knows, maybe He’s preparing you for something even better
