I have a 1.5 hr commute to work. My monthly gas bill doubled from $500 to $1000. What does he mean "Revenue Neutral"? Whatever is he spewing? Worked out per year that's $6000 more I will spend on gas. Outrageous. What will that $1000 rebate do for me? I am still paying 80% higher rate for a basic necessity. What's Outrageous is the ministers explanation and justification. Shame on the Liberal Party of Canada.

I'm a libertarian and while I'm all for universal Healthcare in this country I think it's reprehensible that our government can buy out our media and our education system. For education it should be privatized with the government subsidizing children's education rather than paying it directly to schools (as is done in places in Europe). That way if a school is poorly run to specifically push an agenda parents don't like they can just send their kids somewhere else causing the schools that are run poorly to shut down. As for the media I think it should be illegal for the government to be able to bribe the media. That's straight up criminal.

Revenue neutral means a new tax comes in, but an old one leaves of the same value ... What tax went away when the Federal Carbon tax came into force. I live in BC so the federal plan is moot to us. However, the BC gov slung this line for years until it was shown that the carbon tax was not revenue neutral. The only folks who get a rebate are those provinces that the Feds forced the Carbon tax on ...

My wife’s monthly fuel bill means she has to work 4 weeks for three weeks wages. So over the year she works 52 weeks but only gets the money for 40 weeks the rest is used for fuel, 3 months work just so she can get to work. Does this sound economical to anyone. Perhaps they are expecting people to quit and apply for their incoming S-233 bill for Universal Income and so also get a social credit score. We are all being manipulated by those in power. Perhaps once everyone quits working and all employment ceases to exist, people default on loans and the banks reposes homes with the intent of renting back to you via automatically deductions from your universal income and you get food stamps etc.

The carbon tax is not revenue neutral. Especially when you consider the administrative costs for the carbon tax, that we also pay for. Add that to all the other taxes, tariffs, levies and administrative costs and you get what we have. A high cost of living.
