John Brodie #12 played for the San Francisco Forty Niners from 1957 - 1973 and was drafted 3rd overall in the 1957 draft. He threw for 31,548 yards in his career including 21 comebacks and 22 game winning drives. 1965 was probably his best year being selected to the Pro Bowl and throwing for 3,100 yards, 30 touchdowns, a 61.9 completion percentage and a Quarterback rating of 95.3. He shared playing time with Y.A. Tittle until he became the starter in 1961 when Tittle was traded to the New York Giants. When Brodie retired from the NFL at the end of the 1973 season he ranked third in career passing yards, behind only Johnny Unitas and Fran Tarkenton, and ranked eighth in all time touchdown passes when he retired, yet still he has not been voted into the Hall of Fame.
