This will always be my "original" version of the song, first one i listened to maybe 15 years ago while working in my hometown. Now I live on the other side of the world. Still coming back to listen to this masterpiece by a fucking wizard at the height of his powers.

I've been coming back to this video for 6 years. Listening to it brings back memories that I thought got lost forever. It has the weird effect for me.

Discovered this song in this version about 10 years ago and immediately fascinaated me: it became soon my favourite song. I shared it with a special person years later and it was so deep that after she broke my heart and I went to a downward depressing spiral I could no longer listen to it. Two years ago I took action to regain control over my life and fight my depressive state: took a flight to go far away, on an Island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean and listened to this song on the cliffs, admiring the power of the ocean for the first time. Now I can listen to it with a different perspective and I'm back on track with my life, what a journey!

I have searched all over the internet for this exact video! I saw it 12ish years ago, it resonated in my soul because I couldn't remember anything except # of guitar strings and guy with dreadlocks, the tile for some reason I thought was "for Lilly" but finding this makes my heart happy. My fav live version of the song❤

Found it on KZbin the first time in 2011. Here I am 2018. Experienced an ear-gasm back then. Apparently, it's just as intense today.

mmJonesy2014 I’m the same. I think I heard this about 5 or 6 years ago and I remember every so often and I’m blown away again. There are bum notes, missed timings and all sorts in here but it’s still perfection. No other piece of music has ever caught my attention in quite the same way. 😄

howd you learn everything in an hour
@Massygo6 жыл бұрын
Not. takes lot of practice. John plays it different everytime mostly. Need to practice and remember what notes and strings you MAY play and all the sort off hammers/pulls/riffs. When you get those memorized you can start sort of improvising during the transitions. The hardest thing i noticed was memorizing the open E-tuning and understanding that one.
@theairman68676 жыл бұрын
LOL I'm SURE you learned this in an hour. Don't try to impress people on KZbin dude. And I'm sure if you did, you have posted a cover of it, and you didn't.
