Significant songs shared with a Special Someone. From late 2003 to late 2007 I lived in central Fremantle (Western Australia ), and I spent a lot of time with two beautiful fun and lovely people; one was a talented hard working fun-loving musician, who I’d known since he was about 16 & I was about 19 (so at that time about 20 years of fine good friendship); the other person was his friend and she was a woman like no other and it didn’t take long for me to fall madly for her. - One of the passions we shared together was the love of music . _ In about 2005 we walked the short distance to the Fremantle Arts Center to catch a John Butler concert The John Butler Trio was huge at the time and being a Freo Boy there was a feeling this would be a big show and it was. The lasting memory of this show for me was during the song “Peaches and Cream”, we had a great spot in the crowd, we were standing bopping and swaying to the tunes and having a cute little cuddle and my heart was full of Love; - two main parts of the lyrics caught me “she filled my half empty cup”, …. _ and “ all I know is .. all I know is, I love you, I love you”. A warm and loving moment and a beautiful time. Best Wishes and Peace to you Precious Petal 😍 Yes - I love you - Dave and Peta - Blessings

I was here man, right at the front and I cried at this song. No ego, no attitude, just real emotion. You can just feel the love he has for his wife and children, and how they saved him. I've been there too. Fair play John, you are amazing and a fine ambassador for such a beautiful, lucky country. I'll see you all in October, when I come home for good.

Theres nothing i can say that hasnt already been said...all of the comments on this page are testament to the respect and admiration that shines from this truly beautiful soul and the magical, and amazing music that is created by the wonderful JBT. And it also has to be said that Melbourne, you are such a stunning backdrop. Makes me so proud to be an Aussie when I listen and watch such a heartfelt performance of one of our own. Much respect and adoration to you JBT :))

The second i heard john butler it changed my life forever I realised what i was doing and it changed my life. Seems weird saying it but thanks John I have a great job now and lovely girlfriend you changed my life for the good. Thanks man I love you.

i dont know why but i connect the john butler trio with so much happiness... and he said it, the only thing that matters is love.. perhaps "its something magic" could describe it :D

Immediately as this song started, I started crying. That's the effect his music has on me. The memories I've shared with my mother as a child to his music, pure happiness, before everything get's to you, the media, the people. You know the funny thing, I haven't heard this song in years, yet I can still remember all the lyrics. "Yes she filled my half empty cup. "Yes she filled, my half, empty, cup!"

Ive been a fan of John since the very beginning and have had the pleasure of seeing the band live many times. Being in the crowd and singing as one to this song leaves you feeling great for a long time after the music ends. John has the abillity with his great music of making people believe this world isnt such a bad place and there is hope for the future

I was lucky enough to be there that night, and I can easily say that it was the most amazing concert I've ever been to. There was just this vibe - it was so casual and the music was so chill. I haven't seen it recorded before, but it's nice to be reminded of that show.

i completely and utterly agree with andrephx90, this is why we are alive, to make beautiful and perfect things such as music like this. amongst this fucking chaotic bullshit stress world with escalating living expenses and recession, dooming ourselves slowly with every barrel of oil, this is the one shining brilliance in the darkness of humanity. if we could all create such abundance of greatness there would be no war, no need of hate and dominance, only music, beautiful and perfect music

Well there's far too many questions to ask To answer all of them tonight For I wear, too many masks To tell if any of them are wrong or right And confusion casts a shadow upon me Like a great big cloud in the sky And now I pray for rain 'Cause it's been so long since I let myself cry For so long, I've sang this sad ole song And it feels like my time is up For she came and landed in my arms And she filled my half empty cup Yes she filled my half empty cup There you are Right in front of me A brand new day Sunrise over sea No longer My cup half empty 'Cause there you are You and your mum in front of me In front of me And now I look up above me And I thank that great old God in the sky For telling me my cup ain't half empty I took my little girl to show me why For so long, I've sang this sad ole song And it feels like my time is up For she came and landed in my arms And she filled my half empty cup Yes she filled my half empty cup There you are Right in front of me A brand new day Sunrise over sea No longer My cup half empty 'Cause there you are You and your mum in front of me Your peaches and cream to me You both are peaches and cream to me Peaches and cream to me You and your mum in front of me Your peaches and a cream oh Yeah I, love you All I know is All I know that I I Love you That I love you All I know is All I know And I love you Yeah I, love you,
