@@Gogs126 That's good to hear that Ireland manages to retain its Pub culture- Pubs seem to be in decline in most of the UK for example and have been so for the last 40 years I would guess.

@@Gommerell Partially right and Partially wrong. Getting Alcohol from the Off License has become an increasing part of Irish Culture since 2005 and there has been a significant speeding up of Irish Pubs closing since around 2005. I'll Grant you Pubs are still important in rural and Village Ireland but have become way less popular in many larger town's and the City's (With a possible exception of Galway). I,d like to see an idea that may help be Pubs also make own Craft Beers. Lastly agree above is a good video.
@Gommerell3 жыл бұрын
@@davidorourke4311 Oh so Ireland is going the same way then. I live in a student Town and the pubs are quite busy for students here, but all the local pubs are pretty dead. the whole character of a drinker has changed as well. back in the 80's (when I was 20, you lived for working and going to the Pub, meeting your mates and having a laugh, emulating your peers by telling stories and most importantly meeting the opposite sex when they were tippled as well. the Community/Society met in the Pub and that was the center of life. Now there are no such, partly its true to the price, and off licenses being cheaper- but its no fun drinking on your own and muttering away to yourself- bad for you in a way, the drink can take over and social interaction is a great health benefit. Even if your getting a bollocking of someone or arguing with someone lese, its good for your morale to have a blow out. In Scotland we have declining popn as well and 20% less young folk than the baby boomer wave. So its the Young folk that must be recruited.

He shouldn't need to try..He would automatically qualify for one as his father is Irish/Scottish which means he should get an Irish passport at the very least

@@patmcdonagh9392 that makes him American. Its nice that he feels a connection to Ireland, but he's from Chicago and neither of his parents are Irish. His dad is supposedly of Scottish and Irish descent but seemingly also American.

My English uncle married an Irish girl and moved to Doolin, haven't visited in many years. Mad place, pubs joined on to one another. Had me drinking pints of Guinness aged 15
