While these last few reigns of Cena weren’t as special or memorable as the ones from back then, they were still fun, and Cena gave us more fun and decent matches, and now he’s a 16 time champ. I would love it so much if he can become a 17 time champ, but seeing that he’s back at Hollywood and isn’t getting younger, I might accept that it may not happen. But regardless, I’ll forever respect Cena for everything hes done for the business.😊

Cena should have broken the record and been champ 17 times. He deserved it and records are always there to be broken. Just what cena did for wwe. No Brock or Roman comes close. Also sad that Cena never won the international title. It would be nice if he had given the title more value than he did the US title back then.

Orton deserves it more than Cena easily. Randy Orton may be the best professional (emphasis on the professional) wrestler of all time. Also, he is nearly more of a veteran than Cena and he didn’t get the prestige he has because of WWE or Vince, he worked hard and got there himself with skill and passion. He’s also the son of A Goat as well. Randy Orton easily put in more work than Cena, he has never been a part timer in his entire career and he’s nearly mid 40s. John Cena got pushed because of PG and everything fell into his lap because of luck. Randy Orton unarguably has the most iconic finisher, and it’s known throughout the world. Orton, in my opinion is the greatest wrestler of all time, simply because of his hard work. Either way, in the next era, someone is gonna break the record anyway. Orton just deserves it more than Cena, and also he could be a 2x hall of famer because of Evolution.

I think what Cena was referring to in the Championship Ascension Ceremony promo was the fact that Randy was supposed to be the face of the company, the company's top babyface after Evolution turned on him in 2004 and he FAILED and Cena took that opportunity and ran with it at Wrestlemania 21.
