Kanyon & Raven post-Flock team when Raven was shown to be from a Rich background was over... Kanyon did Comedy Spots in WCW on a Santino Level... Even during the Invasion he was one of the only people getting traction before DDP got buried.... I'm not sure the Alliance MVP thing could've gone anywhere. They never introduced the guy to the audience, gave him a Title and then spent the entire time saying how he never earned it and offered him little TV time. Was doomed to fail. However, if they'd let him carry through with a non-stereotype gay wrestling character and he'd not been injured when Billy, Chuck and Rico were a thing I think he could've made some mileage there. Wwe handled acquiring all that talent very poorly. They could have had wresting on every night of the week at that point. Hire more writers, anything but make them be invaders then try to repackage them all as watered down voiceless jobber versions of themselves. Look at all the shows Vince has at all the title belts. He could have had the wcw guys running the same stories and just focus them better then the chaos it became. The fans still knew who they were. Even as a rapper Cena was a weak ass. People then were getting out from watching WWE in droves at that point - the UFC chants would be coming the following year ('05, Yes I know this interview was later). Chris' wrestling was absolutely solid, however there's only so much you can do when your FORCED to stand in a box and then come out singing 'Do You Really Want to Hurt Me' to the Undertaker while he beats your ass. It's no wonder Wrestlers are running to AEW.

I do have enough sense to understand that whatever he was doing around the time of his release, that it wasn’t working. I enjoyed Kanyons work in WCW the Mortis mask gimmick was cool AF & the positively Kanyon stuff was funny...he was innovative with his in ring offense & his style would influence a lot of the moves wrestlers were using not long after.
