So many artists back then were incredibly enlightened without any media telling them Truths. They received information in Spirit or by having mentors or books…

John expresses the wisdom of a Bodhisattva: he devoted his life to be a positive force for all other beings, and did so by taking care of himself and doing what he believed, trusting that all this energy would emanate through his music and do Good in whoever listens - even if they wouldn't get it the first time. If he decided to go more commercial, certainly this essence would be dissolved and his message wouldn't get through. I wish he could see that decades after, indeed he positively influenced thousands of people!

John Coltrane is my favorite saxman 😊... there's no one past or present that moves me like John... from his work wih Miles, to hear him with Johnny Hartman and Duke Ellington and his last eight years of life with his own bands and players Eric Dolphy, Freddie Hubbard, McCoy, P.Sanders and so many other greats... he was just a beautiful musician 🎶

🪷Coltrane wanted to take the right path, to free himself from suffering by changing, to evacuate the poisons of life, anger, greed, ignorance, to find inner peace and free himself from his demons. Practice generosity, compassion, and love. Music was a companion in all the sufferings of his life and finally found in it a beautiful lotus flower which by its purity sings a happy melody. ❤🛎️🙏

I examined the poets, and I look on them as people whose talent overawes both themselves and others, people who present themselves as wise men and are taken as such, when they are nothing of the sort. From poets, I moved to artists. No one was more ignorant about the arts than I; no one was more convinced that artists possessed really beautiful secrets. However, I noticed that their condition was no better than that of the poets and that both of them have the same misconceptions. *- Socrates.*

@blank......interesting insight. The last 4 to 5 presidents of the US have all been drug addicts and drug traffickers. None of them where part of any revolutions or revelations in the arts. I would rather sit and speak with Coltrane before I would ever sit and speak with 90% of all the worlds leaders. So, you are somewhat right, and somewhat wrong.....more wrong than right though. I mean if you hate Black people, just say that. Because we are sensing you are being a jealous hater, don't be a coward as well.
