I basically have the similar model ( 2720) .What I did was mounted an older Peco grass catcher to mine...No issues with grass clippings .Wish there was a way to upload a pic of it...

Try mulching blades, they have a bend in it. So the grass is cut multiple times inside the deck. When I mow tall grass with straight blades the cut grass is long and sticks into bumps, a lot while dampy, but also when dry. With mulching blades the grassclippings are much smaller and spread evenly over the lawn. I however mow with a X305R, without the mulching cover inside or the 300 liter collector, so the grass is blown out of the back. I only use the deflector when I mow around terraces because I don`t like the look of the lanes of grassclippings. I`m thinking of buying a 2008 2320 though, with a frontloader, palletfork, cabin, and woodchopper, to save my back a little on our homestead.

My first tractor was a 2320. The tractor blew up the gears/transmission because I did exactly what you are doing....you are bringing up the tractor to "high" RPM and then engaging the PTO. YIKES....don't do that. Start the PTO at low RPM and then bring up the speed of the tractor/mower after the PTO is engaged. I learned my lesson....$7000 later. I got rid of that tractor after it was fixed and got a brand new 2021 3046R with a 72-inch 3-point finishing mower with rear discharge. Now it doesn't look like I'm baling hay when I mow the grass.

Thank you for the advice! I'll be sure not to do that anymore! It sounds like your 2320 mowed the same way? I wasn't sure if there are better mower blades or if this is just the design.

i look at many video and they all do that ,if i take my 6125 with the bailer and do that there would be drive shaft and gear flying out of it

I think I have the opposite problem with my 2320, with the factory mowing deck it definitely does mulch all the grass. Since I’m not in a field I would prefer blades that did not mulch grass as I could mow faster.

Given how smooth and flat your yard is, why aren’t you using the Turf Tiger??

I just mulch with mine but I have to go a lot slower and it does an OK job. When it does get thick and it lays on top I go over it again the next day and the dry grass really disappears. Biggest downside to the tractor I think is greasing that u-joint between the tranny and the engine. You have to pull off the plastic and then the inspection plate to get to it. Several of them blew up because greasing the u-joint was not in the original manual. You also need a needle to really get in there and get it properly greased because of the way the zerk is facing. Otherwise it has been a very good tractor for me.

It’s all about having the right tool for the job. There’s no comparison between the cut quality of a Scag velocity deck and a compact tractor’s deck. The Scag is meant to do one thing, cut grass, so the design is centered around that. The Deere is a utility tractor designed for using many attachments that can also cut grass. To match the quality of the Scag you’ll need high lift blades and have to cut less off at a time. Instead of one pass take half the length off on the first pass and then repeat. Obviously this will take twice as long but that’s the trade off.

Absolute truth… i have this exact same tractor and it cuts just like this one here. I also have a bad boy zero turn that cuts grass way nicer than my tractor does. People need to understand these are utility tractors not nice zero turns.

My 2320 with 62" deck mows just as poorly as yours. I don't even use it for mowing anymore, I just keep the deck around for a backup if my Scag zero turn has trouble. I like the tractor and loader, just a poor cut quality on the mower deck.

That's exactly what I do. This is my back up as as well. I do like the tractor and use the loader for projects and clearing snow.

Have you found any resolution to the clippings? Looking at the same tractor to buy and wondered.
@Terminator20032 жыл бұрын
Hi Dusty, I'm looking at buying high lift mower blades and want to try a cutting height around 3 3/4 inches to 4 inches to see if it helps. I'll make a video on it also. Thank you for asking!

have you tried going in a circle blowing it out? nice tractor
@Terminator20032 жыл бұрын
I haven't tried that. I always like to lay stripes in the yard. I do want to try high lift blades though. Thanks!

A nice honest review of your 2320🚜. Mine cut the grass ok with high vac (lift) blades. As I do loader work for a neighbor and also snow plow his driveway - he and trade so that he mows my lawn all summer with his zero turn which does as good as or better job and bit faster than my 2320. I've found that the best way to deal with the grass clippings (I've tried many) is to use a leaf/lawn sweeper to get the grass clumps up - I set my neighbors zero turn up to do sweeping after he mows (kzbin.info/www/bejne/n4bWpoubo7ZnnKM). I don't use my 2320) to mow anymore but the high vac blades did provide a much better 'throw' on the clippings. I do about 40 hours of loader and snowplow work for him each year and he does about the same for me in mow and sweep time. Bottom line the 2320 cuts grass ok, but I agree that a zero turn of similar width is a better option.

Thank you for your advice and for watching. My next step is to try the high lift blades to see how it compares. I do love the tractor, very easy to switch attachments. It's been very reliable and it gets me out in the winter.

you're cutting too low. raise it to 4-4.5" --you'll see a big difference.
