This model is a little newer than the last one-row picker we featured. It is a New Idea Model 323. The tractor at work here is a John Deere 2755,. The husks on these modern varieties of corn are a challenge for an antique picker!

I love stuff like this ! I spent many hours as a kid dodging ears of corn in the back of a wagon . I grew up on my grandpa's farm in the 80's . He was still picking corn with a New Idea 2 row mounted picker on a M . I remember a few years it would be almost time to plant and he would still be picking . I don't ever remember him selling corn it all went to feeding hogs . Thanks for sharing !

Thanks. I like this stuff too. The big combines of today have us all accustomed to the idea that picking is a one day event. Back in the days of one and two row pickers, it could go on for weeks.

Nice outfit. Love seeing stuff like this. I grew up on a small dairy farm. We also had one row pickers. Although ours was never as nice as this one

Wow! That picker was from "Back in the Day!" I bet it would take a very long time to pick a field of corn. But for a small operation that would be hard to beat! I have never seen a dog eat a corn on the cob!
