John Deere 332 Quick Hitch and Front PTO: Part 2 - Blower Install

Installing the Model 47 Quick Hitch blower on the 332 and blowing a little snow. Works great so far. Part 3 will be ironing out some issues that I identified using the set up.

I just bought a quick hitch for my 332 and this was helpful putting it on for the first time. The PO had the pulley backwards on the lower shaft piece so I was struggling with alignment until I watched your video. Thanks again .

Awesome! I had quite the love/hate relationship with the 'fridge' blower, but now that I have the ballast dialed in I thought I was satisfied, until I saw what this could do! I don't think I can bring myself to replace that yet, but do plan on adding a broom to my collection. Thanks for continuing to produce quality video's on these tractors!

Looks like a good unit for a tiny blower. Seems you have the fuel, you need air.

Love the diesel power sending that snow into the abyss. Does it appear the front auger is spinning way faster than normal?

So is there a float option on your hydraulic spool for the the blower or how does that work? I know the 400 series had a float spool, I don't know if the 300's do.

Yes there is, you should be able to push one of the levers forward and it should stay. If it doesn’t you might need to look at the valve and it might just be sticky.

Buddy is it my imagination or does the 332 run that particular blower better than the X7 series did ? The 332 was really slinging that snow a long distance , i mean it ran it really well , from what I seen blower worked great on it.. i have a Magnum 18 in my 317 , so i got plenty of HP for a blower , but currently have a like brand new JD power angle 52” blade on it , haven’t found a good decent priced blower yet but id like to try it , i have ag’s front and rear 300 lbs of weight plenty of traction to push with..love my 317 , it looks and runs like it just came off the showroom floor ,, great machine , but i still would like a 332 to park next to it in the garage😂😂

The 332 ran the blower well. In the video, yes the performance was better BUT the snow was significantly drier and lighter than the X758 video. We still have not had a lot of snow and I have not had much of a chance to try any blowers out this winter.

Hey mmrbeef can you put the johndeere 318 49 snow blower on the johndeere 318 and blow snow. The one you bought with the 322 . Can you put the johndeere 322 49 snow blower on the 322 and blow snow with it

The old seems to work quiet well. Not that I know anything about snow blowing

Would that quick hitch work on a 140 or earlier 300 series? Also just out of curiosity would the quick hitch work on a John Deere 110 or 112 using the linkage that goes back to the rock shaft to lift and lower the attachment I know the pto wouldn't work.

Yes it should work fine. The 140 doesn’t have the mass and the hitch pushes the blower out in front farther so there maybe some issues. As for the 110/112 SF, I’m sure you could modify the set up to accept the on lift rod but then again the hitch will require substantially more effort to lift the attachment with it being farther away from the pivot point. I don’t think I would enjoy lifting attachments using the Armstrong method.

@@mmrbeef it would be with a hydraulic lift not with a manual lift and ok I figured I would ask cause I have a couple of 300 series now and a 140. they make a blade for that setup corect?

Where does one find a aftermarket adapter kit for this snowblower?

A lot of times you have to piece it together. I was lucky and found everything but the pulley that attaches to the engine on eBay a few years ago. Last fall I found a 47 blower and this winter I found a reproduction pulley, bringing everything together to put a quick attach implement on my 300 series. Prior to this 47 blower my only other powered front attachment was my 60HD broom which is too big to do a good job on a 300 series.

Does anyone know if a a Curtis cab for a jd 425 445 455 will also fit on a jd 400? Thanks

Directly, no, there will need to be many modifications. A good 400 cab will be cheaper than a 4-5 cab most of the time.
