I don't get the kick some people get about trolling around looking to stir up trouble on the web. I guess it must be the really tough guys that get at that! I have never given a 'Thumbs Down' to a video. If I like them I give them a thumbs up, If i'm inspired in some way I add a comment as well. My 'Thumbs Down' come in the form of not returning if it's truly bad. I use out-dated fire hose for tank insulating. It has an expiration date and generally ends up in a landfill here in the states. It's good stuff too. Keep up the good work! Take Care Stay Safe Be Blessed!
@LordMuck7 жыл бұрын
Yes that old fire hose would also work. It's getting rare over here these days. I think the military still use some.

As you say it's not all bad news because you can get at those radiator cores and throughly clean them and they will work better as a result. I have used old fashioned cavas flat belt for those pads to prevent abrasion before now. What are all the rubber pipes and parts like in the general vacinity because I bet they have had diesel spilt on them very often in the past? Personally I don't mind criticism as long as it is broadly constructive but it does rub me up the wrong way when some people just seem to want to persistently poke holes.

Hi Kurt you are certainly doing a fair bit to that old Deere, That nose is typical design engineers at work take something and make it a complete pain to work on. Now you raked all that crap and dirt out she's gonna be light on the front L.O.L. For things like that rub strip I usually keep some round baler belt around in the workshop, It's like silage tape it has many uses other than what it's meant for !. How you making out getting that cab kit did anybody come good on shipping from my side the pond ?. I found the Camera the other day so will get the JCB pictures now we got better weather and a little more time free. I've been running it a bit and ordering seals for rams out of the states. The bitch blew the main line from the front spool to the back the other day . The pumps got real good flow though it blew most of a tank full of oil out before i got it stopped, so that hurt re filling it!. The years it stood before I got it haven't helped some of the hydraulic seals and hoses sadly, but I will get it right eventually. Is there any particular pictures you want of it, or just a general nose round?. Thanks for the video, see ya next time. Robert

Did you source the interior kit? I found the original john deere one we bought about 8 years ago, still in the box took it out to have a look and would you believe the foam is falling to bits in the box!
@paullee40334 жыл бұрын
These John Deere videos have been real interesting I can see now why people give big John deeres a good name they seem very reliable I now under stand why ford and mf lost out but tractors seem so complicated these days somebody told me they had a bill for 13500 pounds for a modern tractor gearbox ford told us all the parts in 8830 box where all off the shelf and where not really expensive but it was the brain under the seat that was special

Just occasional work and buggering about. I don't bother about negative comments because I'm more ignorant than the ones making them ! But it makes me wonder when they moan about videos that people such as CT3 put so much time and effort into making.

Wait till you need to change the alloy arm under the cab that operates the PTO !, you basically have 2 choices on how to do it. You either take the cab off or split the tractor at the bell housing as if your doing the clutch !, I did mine when I fitted a new clutch about 5 years ago until then it had been a nightmare engaging the PTO. We'll have to chat again about that other thing and sort something !.
@LordMuck7 жыл бұрын
I'll be in touch.

Yeah for sure !. Oh and that stuff under tank, if you can get hold of some old binder belting it's just about the exact match.

Imagine what its like now to get to some parts of a brand new tractor.. A robot has gone in a welded and fitted stuff in holes that a mouse wouldn't fit into.. Not to mention.. There's a sensor for everything.. So id imagine a little tinkering would be then greeted with the tractor throwing a fit of errors at you on the computer screen.. You can get by with the old iron..and learn a few bits on the way..
@LordMuck7 жыл бұрын
I love the newer stuff - someone else has to do it !! It's incredible to see just how well those older Deere's were built.

I can't remember off hand but it's something like 50 litres in the front and 70 down under the cab. Its about 120 all told.

Things like that are specifically designed not for ease of production or maintenance but so that servicing the new machine to maintain the warranty cover takes an age at the dealer who in turn can charge a fortune for labour to the customer while paying some poor tech minimum wage thus maximising the available profits. its all a con.

ahh well you saying about people being negative towards videos made on KZbin. This has to be one of the most shocking video ive ever seen on youtube, the lighting was poor and the commentary sucked (jokes). you know i don't understand why people do that sort of thing when people take the time in sharing what they are doing, now don't get me wrong if the video is on the subject that the hatter does for a living why they don't offer advice or ideas on how to maybe do it better instead of just putting that person down i don't know. ill always offer advice, ideas of maybe a better way to do something rather than put that person down. if its the person i don't like for some reason or something ill just leave and say nothing cuz lets face it no one is ever going to get on with everyone out there. as i said i was joking about the lighting etc. i do like this sort of video as i like to know how things work/are made etc. i think you tube videos should/could be used in schools, more so the farming videos as nowadays if you ask a child where meat comes from or milk etc 9 times out of 10 you'll get a reply with a supermarket name so it could help them to learn where these things come from and maybe bring in some new blood or interest from an early age
@LordMuck7 жыл бұрын
No, no - the lighting was crap, the commentary is always bad...!! The thing is I just put the videos up for people to watch - it's not big budget but it still takes time but some of these guys take a lot of time and effort to do the best they can and then they get people bitching and moaning that they "Didn't like the music" or "Don't like opinion of the channel owner". If they don't like it, the best thing to do is show everyone how it should be done. I love when people comment and explain and say how they have done similar stuff and offer help and advice - that's why we do these things.
@eacomposites57007 жыл бұрын
haha it was light enough to see what was what though and i guess it depends what you want from the commentary, i mean less face it its not a football match so i guess its hard as to what to comment on and what to leave out. ahh but it should not have to be big budget and it should not have to take two days + of planning just to make a video for KZbin, as long as people can see the point of the video then surely that's what its all about. its not like everyone works inside a building and can leave the kit setup there day in day out. this is true, I'm not sure but maybe people don't know they have control over the volume and what they watch for that matter, I'm now starting to learn that some people just love drama in their lives and if they don't have it they need to cause it. yes that would be the best but i guess they don't have time what with watching Jeremy Kyle and other day time TV. ahh yes its good to share knowledge as that's how people learn at the end of the day. The internet in a whole has helped me out with a lot of stuff and i'm happy to share it with others if it makes their life easier (i say if as sometimes some ways of doing things don't work for everyone) but i'm more of a spray painter than a farmer or anything else so most of my advice is shared with people doing that sort of thing but i do like to learn how other things work or are done. at the end of the day you'll never stop learning till the day your gone and then everything you know is no good to you so you may as well share it where you can
