John Deere 720 730 Two Cylinder Standard Rockshaft Arms

The two main reasons for the different arm sizes were ease of getting on and off the tractor, those standards aren’t the easiest to climb on in the first place unless you have front step option and climb up over the flywheel. The standards generally sat lower in the rear than a row crop version so the “swing” so to say of the arm when it traveled didn’t need to be as large of a radius. Good find on those arms as 3 point on a standard is indeed on the rare side!

I can certainly see that for the reason. Compared to the 730 row crop, you have to contort yourself a little to get onto the 720. With the three point on, it will be considerably worse.

@ something else I should mention, check the hitch on your 720 standard it may not have the mounting holes for the elephant ears to attach to. A simple fix just get the A frame off a row crop tractor and you’ll be fine, it’s just something you don’t want to run into when you’re geared up to get everything mounted up.

Long over due. I can’t wait to see what previous owners have shoved in there to slow it down. It’s certainly a project I am dreading. Lots of heavy stuff to take off, move, and keep track of!
