My neighbor used to have 8310’s on his planters. One spring he broke the crank on one and tore the front axle out of the other. He uses articulated Deere’s on the planters now too. His planters are 40’.

Good to see Matt in his element. Always impressive to see those big machines making acres! Interesting that they are a big farm that doesn't use a grain tender per se. Cool stuff.

The seed tender is a semi truck with seed totes. It’s impressive how fast just emoting the box is into the CCS tank.

Hey there Jason, I hope you're all well and good! Another great video, and as always, it's very informative. Your drone work was great, I love the still overhead shot at the opening. 40 acres an hour is getting it done at 6mph, just think what Matt could do with a high speed planter at 10mph, I know he said they had to many rocks, but there are some out there covering 60-65 acres an hour, which is mind boggling. I hope you have a good one Jason! "Nothing Runs Like A Deere" 🦌👍🇺🇸

It’s surprising to me they don’t use tracked tractors and planters. I would think if any farm could afford them they could. Nice to see Matt again!
@bigtractorpower2 жыл бұрын
They currently run 4 9620RXs and an 1167 Vario MT on tracks. They will have 9RX 640s on tracks and 9R 440s later this year. Matt keeps hopping for narrow track 9RXs to plant with. Tracked planters work great in the field but do not road long distances well with out over heating.

we run two 8R340 tractors and two 1775 24 row planters, we are in a record drought right now in nebraska and won’t be able to plant in any moisture unless we get a really good rain🤞

We finished planting dryland corn a few days ago, and my boss used a John Deere 8120 tractor that had tinted windows with an 8 row 30 inch John Deere 1750 planter. We planted around 180 acres, but we have an irrigation pivot that has wheat on it right now, and my bosses are probably gonna plant double crop corn on it. Depends on if we get good enough rain in South Central Kansas.

Does the 9420r have more hydraulic flow than a similar 8r ?
@bigtractorpower2 жыл бұрын
That is a good question. I need to look that up.
@gregjames50702 жыл бұрын
Yes. The 9420r is capable off 115 gallons a minute. A 8400r is capable of 85 gallons a minute.

How does Matt like the John Deere planter, compared to the Kinze planter🤔
@bigtractorpower2 жыл бұрын
He likes the John Deere planter. When he made the switch in 2020 he talked in a Ride along about what he liked about Kinze and what he liked about Deere. The big change for him was service access on the Deere and that the Kinze has three big wheels out front that tended to push up lots of mud in a wet spot.
