Thanks for the tip! Just installed a set of the premier lamps in my X580 and they are incredibly bright!

Installed a pair of these today... holey moley, what a nice upgrade! The higher Kelvin (white) of these are so much better than the factory incandescent (amber) bulbs.

How cool - I literally just bought a pair of LED from Okieinny yesterday, can't wait to get them! He's a high quality seller on eBay and located in Oklahoma so shipping will be fast.

If you do touch a halogen bulb you can clean it with brake cleaner.

What is the Lumen rating on the bulbs you installed? Thank you.

Unfortunately I’m not sure, I get my lights for all tractors from a guy who builds them, but these were a prototype at the time, so I don’t have that info.

Is there a light switch on the JD X500 lawn tractor? Thanks for the LED heads up.
@kennstinchfield42182 жыл бұрын
Found it. Just didn’t know you just turn back one notch with the key.
@JoshsGreenGarage2 жыл бұрын
There isn’t a dedicated toggle switch, on the ignition, there is a key position that turns the lights on, and can be used with the tractor on or off. This setup is the same on all current 100-500 series tractors. The X700s are the only ones with actual switches, and they have a couple functions.

I'm curious to know how long these lasted. I am seeing a LOT of posts indicating these burn out fairly quick. Can you tell us how long these lasted for you? (Hours of use?)
@JoshsGreenGarage Жыл бұрын
I’m gonna be 100% honest, they didn’t see a whole lot of use… probably less than an hour. I don’t have this machine anymore, so I can’t say. This machine only ever cut grass, and it’s daylight almost 24/7 in AK during grass cutting season… I think the issue is in cheaper bulbs. These were pretty good quality. I have a set from the same guy in my X700 and those have many hours on them, over 10 hours easily, probably closer to 20, and not in “typical” conditions… really cold, and they are still working just fine.

1156 is the bulb number... I am wondering if this will suffice for me because my old mower was the older yard machines (this body style montana20021.tripod.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/yardmachines_f675g_16.5-42-2002.jpg) I had actually made a "shelf" on the inside of the headlight buckets and affixed 2 off road rectangle "pod" style off-road lights these type off-road lights, only paid like 25 bucks at the time for the set. auxbeam.com/collections/led-light-bars-by-size-4-6-inch/products/spu20017 *behind the original diffuser and it worked so great... so great I am thinking about transplanting the hood/front end to my other mower. lol I couldn't help but chuckle when cars flashed their lights while I was mowing sorta close to the road.

Yeah, I WAS going to get these - they were only $16.19/ea when you buy 2. Then I went to check out.... FORTY DOLLARS FOR SHIPPING! I'll stick with my dim bulbs.

Where are you located? That’s crazy… pretty sure it was free for me, and I was in Alaska at the time…

@@JoshsGreenGarage I'm in MO, so that much for shipping something that small and light is WAY too much! I found some on Amazon, cost me $15.99, and FREE shipping, for TWO of them. Just waiting on delivery now. I'm planning on taking the headlight covers off and lining the back of the area with aluminum foil to act as a reflector. That should help throw more light forward.

It's pretty lame for the cost of these machines they can't have factory led headlights. Not 1157 tail light bulbs.

Very nice. However one can go to Tractor supply or Wally world and just buy a 2 light LED kit for $30 and bolt it onto the hood, if looks don't matter.
@JoshsGreenGarage3 жыл бұрын
You are right, but in that case you would now have spend $5-10 more and ruined your nice tractor by drilling holes in it… unless you find another way to mount it

Ok, well good thing I corrected it in the video before it was released… Mistakes happen…
