Nice touch including the idle adjustment at the end, Martin! Bookmarked the cable adjustment for future reference. Sort of like governor adjustment.

Definitely, same basic process but a little easier than governor adjustment even. 😊

I have a Cub Cadet Pro Z 100, and I thought that there were areas of poor design that were difficult to service. After seeing this JD, my Pro Z is a marvel of engineering design. I can't believe what you have to remove to get to the throttle cable. On mine, the control station removes with 4 keepers, which gives you access to the throttle cable. It's a 5 minute job in real time. On mine, the engine bay traps debris, but nothing close to what was trapped under the huge cowling on that JD. I'll stop complaining about mine now. Thanks for the video.

Haha, definitely a crazy design. I have seen worse but rarely do engineers think of the mechanic in their designs. Thanks for watching!

There was some additional grass/brush behind the throttle assembly which I would have blown out….mainly because I’m OCD. Great video, as always.

Definitely missed that, thought it was cleaned up better than it looks. Thanks for your comment and for watching!

We use them to signify what needs worked on, has been estimated/waiting, finished or whether they still need double checked. Just makes it easier to find things when you have hundreds of mowers you can pretty easily rule out many. Thanks for watching and for your comment Don!

We used to replace just the wire back when things were a bit more serviceable.

For sure! I was taught this way many years ago but sadly do not remember much of that lesson. Thanks for sharing!

No, not too bad at all really! I have just seen so many homeowners intimidated so they won't even attempt it. This one was quoted $240 labor from the dealer

Even if you park it in side best to put a tarp over it anyway 😊

Yes sir, you are correct this is the mistake I mentioned. Who does that? Lol, guess I was just frustrated because the camera just overheated and didn't let me finish up. 🙃

At the 19:30 mark in the video you can see a small "can" to the left of the connector for the main jet solenoid. It has a spring loaded lever at the 3 o'clock position. Beside it there's a linkage that goes vertically up to then through the carb to the fin that's moved by the fan. Can you tell me if the plastic tab on the bottom of that linkage should be above or below the lever that's on the can? The engine is surging at all speeds and the fin is fully deflected out from the fan. If I hold the fin closer to the fan it smooths out. I'm guessing this has something to do with the choke because if I hold the fan too close to the fan the engine sputters with black smoke as though the choke is on.

The plastic sits below the lever. This is likely telling you the carburetor is gummed up or has inferior quality fuel causing this issue. We show the carburetor cleaning on one of these if you have the single cylinder Intek at kzbin.info/www/bejne/lXWYeIxmj5qDaJo
