Update: Folks, just recently purchased this Live album that was recorded in 1985 on a tour of the Soviet Union. I haven't found a more crystal clear recording of JD live. This is a must have if your a big John Denver fan like myself. amzn.to/Q6nOvz
Click the link to order or just look at the awesome set list.
This is John Denver back in June 1997 performing his last song of the evening.
He performs Blue Water World as a tribute to Jacques-Yves Cousteau who at the time had just passed away. I am very lucky to have captured this footage and hope you all enjoy a rare view of another JD classic. Wish it could of been a bit better quality, better than nothing I guess.
Enjoy.

This is John performing in Jacksonville, Oregon (near Ashland) and a winery there -- June 27, 1997. I had seen John at the Villa Montalvo in Saratoga, CA (bay area) on June 22, 1997 (my last concert, sigh) so REALLY appreciate this video. THANKS for posting this, it's so beautiful -- wonder if this will ever be found in some 'vault'?

What other singer asks his audiance to "pick up around yourselves" after a concert?? His devotion to keeping our home, the earth, in good condition for the next generation - was legendary - as was his songs and his ability to perform them for us. To live in the hearts of those you have left behind - is to never die!!! Thanks, JD, for the music and a lifetime of great memories!

Thank you so much for posting this wonderful video! John, you will always be in our hearts!!! Question, is this clip from a party he did in Texas 11 days before he passed? I remember some tv exec inviting John to sing at his wife's birthday and this looks like it might be the last song. Any thoughts?

A song, John Denver wrote in the last months of his life. It was never recorded but when he sang it in concert during his last tour yes, he dedicated it to Jacques Cousteau who died in April 1997. Jacques Cousteau was one of John's heros and he featured him and his ship Calypso in a TV special 1975. Thanks for the upload♥ ~Marion

Hi Folks, Funny how you notice he was a bit tired here, but there is a good reason. He just got done playing a smoking version Johnny B. Goode. I hadn't seen him ever get into it like he did that evening. He was shuffling across stage, jumping and banging on his guitar... it was great. Wish I could see it one more time~

Thanks a lot! I haven't seen this clip before and haven't heard this song either. It starts out sounding something like his song "Yellowstone Coming Home" that he wrote in 1997. Thanks so much for posting this in really good quality. Do you know where this performance was?

You might check that date. I think this was recorded on June 27, 1997 at a tribute event to Jacques Cousteau in Jacksonville, Oregon. He also performed a version of this song in Maui on April 10 at a corporate event for Interface, Inc. and Ray Anderson, where he claimed to first perform it. I was there in Maui. There are some significant differences in lyrics of the verses, one inspired by 1,100 people exploring sustainability and the other in tribute to a single visionary man. The Maui version includes this verses, beginning with a similar line from the recording above: Oh we have come from everywhere, together here as one All children of the Universe, each bright and shining sun Together on a journey, hand in hand, side by side We are a promise for the future and we cannot be denied We will not be denied

This is BEAUTIFUL quality video, awesome! Thanks for sharing this lovely lovely song... I last saw John 'live and in concert' on June 22, 1997, it was an outdoor concert in the late afternoon, John sang among the trees and squirrels, it was so John, sigh. Sure miss his physical presence -- truly one of the finest singer/songwriters of all times, sigh.

Thanks for sharing Todd. I had a very vivid dream last night where John said something to me about a "Blue Water World" and sang this song. I hadn't heard of it or remembered it, until I looked it up. I find the whole of this simply amazing! ♥

John Denver recorded "Johnny B. Goode" on his self-titled "John Denver [JD]" album, originally released in 1978. It may also be on some of the collection-type albums as well.

Pat Riley is that the one from the documentary he made like a month before he passed? I admit I don’t care for some of his later work but this song and that one, I would have loved for it somehow to be recorded and released. I read somewhere I think it was his brother that said he was really excited about a new song he’d written. He still had so much beautiful music to give.
