Sharon here: It pains me to see the sadness in his eyes. I think he carried many inner problems that were covered up during his rise in popularity, and when it fell off it hurt him greatly ... along with the personal losses he had.

I think he carried the pain of loosing Annie for the rest of his life. The second marriage I think was to try and fill the emptiness he felt without Annie. It was a sad thing that he and Annie were mending their friendship and on better terms, and then his death.

I'm not a crier per se but this song will get you close. I have this on a DVD and have played it about 10,000 times. John was a good guy. He believed in helping The Wildlife society of the World. The man had a big heart. Man, We miss The Rocky Mountain Man more each day. RIP Sir Denver.

This is by far my most favorite in John Denver non-nature related song. Just the soul and the feeling that is in this is absolutely amazing. He was a talented and wonderful artist that was taken to far before his time. I’ve been a John Denver fan since I was a little boy and I continue to share his music with those around me. He’s absolutely one of the best in my book.
@ja9795 Жыл бұрын
I'm not so sure that this is a "non-nature" related song. I think that a point that John Denver has been making in much of his music is that our modern culture HAS "fallen out of love" with NATURE itself including the genuine nature of our OWN selves... which then is reflected back to us in the world we live in.

This is what it's like falling out of love This is the way you lose your very best friend This is how it feels when it's all over This is just the way true love ends First of all there's no one to talk to When there is, they just don't seem to hear Words don't seem to matter much anyway They can't describe the pain They can't explain the fear Then the nights grow cold and hard to live through Still you hate to see the morning come Somehow, tomorrow doesn't matter much any more The future holds no promise Your life's already done This is what it's like falling out of love This is the way you lose your very best friend This is how it feels when it's all over This is just the way true love ends Then you find your heart no longer flutters You no longer look through a lover's eyes What's to see when the world falls down around you You simply can't believe it But it comes as no surprise This is what it's like falling out of love This is the way you lose your very best friend This is how it feels when it's all over This is just the way true love ends What's the sense of failure It's such an incredible loss It's all the things you'll never do And all the dreams that will never come true This is what it's like falling out of love This is the way you lose your very best friend This is how it feels when it's all over This is just the way true love ends Oh, this is just the way a true love ends I don't believe a true love ever ends

They have a dream, they have the talent, they have what it takes. Then one day they are famous, all of the things they dreamed of comes true. But then over time their lives change. Things, people, parts of their lives that were once important fall by the wayside. But they keep going chasing that dream. The years pass, and maybe they realize that all that they had valued in the beginning are all gone. The one they loved is gone, the family they cherished is gone. It has happened to so many great artist, stars. You have to wonder is the price of fame worth the price that will be paid?

Girlfriend just broke up with me, it happened all of a sudden, I focused too much on working and growing my business lately and took her for granted, kinda abused her emotionally, now her heart no longer flutters, I cried hard and feel extremely bad. Even though I made more money than I ever did, I feel incredibly guilty and down. Because of all the bad things I said recently, while busy working on my own business and neglected her feelings. I remember in the beginning of our relationship last summer in 2020, back in warm Vista, California, I sang this song and many other John Denver song to her, even though I sang and listened to this song for hundreds of times, for its beautiful rhythm, I never truly understood or cared about the lyrics until today. Every line hit me hard now. You simply can't believe it But it comes as no surprise What's the sense of failure It's such an incredible loss It's all the things you'll never do And all the dreams that will never come true I hope I can get her heart flutter again, otherwise, I ask God's forgiveness, and will be a better man in the future,
