When I was 3, the trajectory of my life changed - I came to Colorado on vacation for the first time. When I was 6, the trajectory was galvanized by seeing John Denver in concert. When I was 18, I learned how to play guitar. At 33, I finally moved to Colorado to live in the mountains.

I have to admit that I usually prefer edgier artists with more bite to their music, but when my mind is in turmoil, It is John Denver's music that calms my thoughts and helps me find my center again. His songs cut to the heart of the things that truly matter: love for ourselves, for each other, and for the world we live in.

Oh how right you are. I'm 28, and I'm Italian. I am still to be able to listen to some of John's songs without tearing up. He sure knew how to get to the right strings inside a human being, and play them with the same skill he played his guitar with.

John said he started writing this song in the shower. I believe him. The song gives me a feeling of awe, of mysticism and magic. There are no stoppages, words flow as effortlessly as the river, so clear and aware and sure of it's course. It is my favorite song. Mountains, rainbows and flowers-to not lose sight of their beauty and remember and keep feeling joy, innocent joy, even as divisions, infighting threaten to tarnish relationship with nature & the good we can find in one another.

Beautiful words I hope you write songs or poetry, if not you should. John would be proud. Thank you, peace be with you and far out!!🙏🙏

Yes I do write poetry/verses and appreciate a well written line in a song. Thank you for the encouragement. I don't know if John would be proud- I would have liked to share my poems with him. I could tell he loved to sing and share stories, feelings with listeners. The hope for a more peaceful world is something JD truly believed in and something people are still striving for, finding strength in the music, to carry out this vision.

I don't have many friends but I will definitely keep writing. I enjoy listening to this kind of music. It is magical when a song has "flow," many songwriters say it is a gift and it is! Peace to you too and again many thanks 😊
