John Denver was talking about his experience of being in the Mountains in Colorado. After he visited for the first time he moved there...It was like a rebirth for him, he experienced joy and peace in nature..."He was born in the summer of his 27th year, coming home to a place he'd never been before" He became an ecologist and saw that man was ruining the planet, so he decided to be part of the solution...John was an artists who was moved by being out of doors.

I’ll never forget the San Louis valley.. back in 1977... and Red River Taos area..I’ll never forget what my Grandparents who hit the road taught me! Took us along.. I’ll never forget all of Colorado, and New Mexico, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho , Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Utah, California, and Arizona, and all the times we had long ago, every national Park , and I mean every park! And many more States and attractions., from Canada to Mexico... and much more... I’ll never forget Carlsbad caverns, Grand Canyon, painted desert , Petrified forest and meteor crater, or standing in wait for old faithful to erupt in Yellowstone... I’ll never forget the wonderful drive down the pacific highway, the giant redwoods and sequoias! Or the majesty of Glacier park, and Rocky Mountain park... or swimming in the great salt lake , I was so very fortunate to have the family I did, Grandparents who raised us, and taught decency and fostered ambition .. all these years later, I’ve been to so many more places.. back East and a mother lode of national parks there,Great smokies, Shenandoah , and all smithsonian institutions from Washington DC , Arlington National Cemetery and changing of the guard, to Alabama’s rocket center and across the oceans to foreign lands, the world over... After 25 years in law enforcement, and several businesses, I’m humbled looking back, and what I owe my wonderful Grandparents who taught me about life, directed me toward decency, and the value of education... but I can never repay it, they are gone now.. I’m blessed with 6 Grandchildren of my own, perhaps I can make a dream come true for them, a gift repaid and trails re-discovered, from so very, very long ago..😥

I live in California and the beauty of the coast, Yosemite, the giant redwood forests and the Sierra Nevada mountains is spectacular. I've driven through maybe 25 or the 50 states in America and Colorado is also a spectacular place to see. Easy to see why John Denver moved there. I agree his music is timeless.

I grew up with a mother that introduced me to music John Denver was one and I have always heard his message we all need to love each other more no matter what the world tells us . We are all in this together no race no color we are all great as individuals. So let’s stop listening to what the media tells us how we should feel and Liston to our hearts and the lessons we learn in life . There’s good in us all so go find it. GOD bless you all.

You don’t have to be in Colorado to gather an experience such as this song reminds us. It can be close by wherever you might live and you go there for some solitude and soul searching. It’s what you make of it. Though this a beautiful song and John Denver had many others that take you away.

I love John Denver, but his best song is an unknown song of the album "Spirit" called, "ln the Grand Way." Even if you don't do a reaction video for it, please give it a listen. As beautiful a song as you'll ever hear! I introduced it to my wife from Mexico 22 years ago, and she loves it so much she constantly asks me to sing it to her, and I can't even sing! Now that's a song!

I think humanity needs wilderness. John Denver, more than any other musical artist, sang about nature, tried to protect it and get people to realize they are part of it, to get involved in conserving wilderness, for humanity and the other animals who live in it.
@michaelzilkowsky29362 жыл бұрын
Ted Nugent doesn't sing about nature, but what you said applies to him probably more than anyone but John Denver. There is no greater conservationist than him and it is inspiring to hear him talk about nature, animals, hunting, balance in the ecosystem.

This song is our State's song but I can only imagine what the Himalayan folk might be thinking! Laughing their asses off, I suppose...-) It's a great song, don't get me wrong! .... the Himalayan mountains are so much bigger! Either adapt this or make one as beautiful for your own! It would be fantastic for you, Nepal, and even Tibet! Snow Leopards are hard to dismiss and about as close to the most fantastic creatures I've ever seen! To see them in person is a dream I'll never see...

The late great John Denver--in a genre of his own.
@johnboehmer66832 жыл бұрын
True. Bluegrass is close, but those who adhere to it would say no. Of course, it's well documented the country music folk shunned him also. Adult contemporary?....sort of, but to listen to 100 AC songs, one would get a sense the vast majority of Denver's songs don't sound the same, maybe Fly Away. He was very unique in consistently singing about nature, even incorporating it into the love songs to a large degree. That largely set him apart.
