Anything of John's that's live, not studio! Try Age of Reason with the MSO for a start: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ppLchqamgL6rZ6M Just make it a rule for yourselves, if anyone requests any John Farnham, find a live version (for search terms - Chain Reaction concert, Classic Jack concert with MSO, Expo 88 concert, Whispering Jack concert). His studio songs are fine, but the reason he is still so popular and loved 40 years later is because of his live performances, and they are so, so much better than the video clips, no exceptions. If I'm honest, I'll give a like to any JF reaction, including this one, but I don't tend to watch them if they're not to live versions, and I'm a massive fan of his!

To blow your minds even further, listen to John Farnham singing Led Zeppelin's Black Dog - it was recorded as a sound check - I believe the guitarist wanted to hear back a rift that he was trying out and asked the sound guy to press record. The music world is a richer place because of it. EPIC!

I think you should checkout John’s interaction with his band and audience in concert. John is a true performer and could have been a stand up comedian. This is a clip of John singing Burn for You, having fun with Brett Garsed his guitarist and his audience then goes on to sing a so call German folk song! Enjoy. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qH22do2Idq9pr9ksi=bC96R9qcKv91Ul2M

Go to John’s “ The last time” concerts, and , no, he wasn’t retiring, just not doing national tours anymore. Two to consider are Angels with Lisa Edward’s and a very emotional cover of Cold Chisels “ When the War is Over”. He’s 54 and his voice is even better!!

FYI : John Farnham's sons Rob and James appear in the music video for his song "Age of Reason". Farnham said he wanted his children in the video because the song is about the future.

A lot of Johns songs have messages to make you sit up and take note of what’s happening and happened in the world. Us humans are still making the same mistakes. Other good songs to listen to from John is That’s freedom. Give me a reason. And Many more for the world to sit up and take notes to do better. Love you John. 💕

John is one of those incredibly rare humans that actually does genuinely care about those around him. You can see it in his band and how loyal they are whether they are full time or visitors at his concerts or studio work. There is no competition in his eyes, we willingly would drop everything to help another singer record their songs as a back up singer. Even going incognito and uncredited. There is a number of times you can hear his very unique powerful voice in the background to other aussie artists songs. And in return those artists helped him out in gratitude. Even those rare few he has fought with respect him and remain freinds, writing songs for him willingly even after the fact. He is just a genuine, very kind and expressive person who refuses to hurt anyone and is willing to help out if asked. While his voice only now is getting out into the general community, his name has been well known and respected for nearly 50 years by the wider commercial, global music industry. You will find a lot of the worlds greats all know exactly who he is and respect him greatly.

Pro Tip: nobody is suggesting studio versions of John's songs when there's live versions available. The studio/official videos are good, but sound manufactured when compared to the energy of his live performances. Unlike a lot of other bands performing live though, all of John's live vocal takes could go straight onto a studio track. Thanks for reacting to John, video LIKED.

Yep... the studio versions just pale in comparison to the LIVE versions. There's no point reacting to the studio versions. I don't even bother watching the studio reactions because they're kind of lame tbh. He holds back so much in the studio. But LIVE he just lets it rip. No comparison.

Thank you for reacting to this. My favourite version of this song is John singing it live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. As another person commented, the video is tame and held back. John brings the song to life when he sings it live. ❤

Hi guys. I'm going to suggest Johns cover of Stevie Wonders Loves In Need live in concert 1990 and as a complete opposite All our Sons and Daughters so you can see how he does a fantastic Acapella with his whole band and then a heavier rock performance. He is the G.O.A.T. and his love for people and the world just shines through whether live or studio recorded. Love our John ❤️

Such respectful reactions to John. Love it. One of my favourites is John Farnham - We're No Angels (posted by glennSuperdude) live at an awards show. So simple, so beautiful.

Love all the people around the world who discover our “Whispering Jack”. “The Voice” pre-recorded or live is exactly how it is. With a full operatic/concert orchestra this legend can even be the out front focus. He truly is a very special human and when he goes, the world will be so much poorer. Great reactions fellas.👍♥️😎

Quite a number of John Farnham's songs carry a message for the greater good in the world. John is always happy to sing. That's what he came here to do ! You guys would love John's a capella version of Stevie Wonder's, ' Love's In Need, 'with his backing singers and band. It is mesmerizingly beautiful and a message for what the world definitely needs today.

According to an interview with John, the mountain view part of the clip was filmed very early morning, the helicopter could not land, so just balanced one skid on a rock and John was told to jump out, - and a few minutes later a group of bushwalkers appeared out of the bush, - they were asked to hide while the filming was done, - but John did give autographs. enjoyed your reaction, thankyou, it is a great clip, but over all I prefer the 'lives' ... so many song of John to cover, a suggestion or 3 - 1990 - See the Banners Fall, kzbin.info/www/bejne/nISaimeFp5yBatk 1986 - Let me out - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mWbTiq2vg8uiq7s (written by John) 1994 Only Women Bleed kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqq0ia1oq5KUkMU (Alice Cooper cover)

In an interview with John about the filming of this video he said the parents were told just to send the kids in old clothes. Thet turned up in their good gear and went home absolutely covered in mud.😊

I had never seen this video before....It matched the meaning of this song....What about The World? a question we all ask today....The world is becoming a scary place today. But for future reactions please use a 'live' performance as most Aussies will tell you John is better live...lol Hi from Australia

Great reaction guys, so glad you’re heading down the Farnsey rabbit hole! Everybody has recommended some great tracks, I’d like to recommend Amazing Grace with his backup singers, live, and the soundcheck of Led Zeppelin’s Black Dog (audio only), both absolute masterpieces! Also, if you’d like to sample some newer Aussie music, Matt Corby’s live version of Brother on JJJ’s Like a Version will just blow your mind! Thanks and happy holidays! 😁🎉

This guy is the greatest and most versatile male vocalist of all time, he can sing anything, any genre including opera. But please please, whenever reacting to John, you have to do it to a live performance, always live, where available, better than studio vocals and band music, backing vocals etc, and then there’s John adlibs, not just music but a highly entertaining performance.
