David Hersfelder is one of the reasons John's songs were so beauatifully crafted. He also was responsible for the Melbourne Symphony Orchastra arraingements. A truely taleted man know being recognised by fillm makers. John is The Voice but he always had the best backing bads and singers. Most of them where with him thruoughout his long career. Loyalty to John because he was loyal to them and appreciative of their skills.

Hirschfelder is Australia's greatist keyboardist (and more). I saw him live a long time ago and he did this incredible run up and down and all over the keyboard with one hand while having a drink with the other hand. I'm pretty sure he was just showing off a little!

Hi Charlie ... your appreciation of John Farnham puts me in tears every time I see your reaction to his videos. As a singer who just turned 70, I was influenced by Steve Marriot, Paul Rodgers, and Robert Plant ... but there is only one John Farnham .... I've been to more of his shows than I can count. In Australia he is an icon. Loved by four generations. Nobody ... n.o.b.o.d.y ... sings like John Farnham. He has more heart and soul in his little finger than most other singers. And he is so humble you would not believe it.

John's songs are generally about the state of our world and gravitate towards loving one and another, being kind, looking after each other and as we all know that is how the G.O.A.T is in life himself. So yes Charlie it is a pity that people focus on stupid little things instead of fixing the huge wrongs going on in our world. You can tell this icon cares about others by the way he puts emotion into his singing, how he loves his band, he loves his fans and how he interacts with the crowd in his live performances. But then there's the singing for charity he's done over the years, you can also see how much he cares about others during interviews. This is why this legend is loved throughout Australia & New Zealand, just a kind, caring, genuine bloke.

Hi Charlie Smith. I don't have the Internet so asking for reactions isn't that easy. If you read this - how about See the Banners Fall? And towards the very end of the song - one of his fans hurls a package to him, brilliant aim, right into his hand. And John looked so surprised. Your Reactions? Anything and everything, just love the man, love the voice. If the day is bothersome - play one of his concert videos. David hirschfelder, keyboard player extraordinaire, film score Shine, etc, and BAFTA winner, , and he arranged all the music for this track, Age of reason . All his band and backing singers have big talent and musical pedigrees. 15.11.23. UK. E❤

Another great reaction to our John Farnham. Your channel is one of only a few that are giving John so much support and supporting his great voice and music. I think John has one of if not the greatest voice of all time. His range, mic control, breath support, belting range are all amazing and sometimes seem endless, I don’t know how he hasn’t blown his voice out with some of those raspy, growing, high belts that he does like in “when the war is over”. You have featured John a lot on this channel as have a couple of other reaction channels and I thank you for helping to get John’s wonderful music out to people who haven’t yet had the pleasure and to keep his music alive. Keep up the great work.

Age of Reason is my favourite Farnham song. The instrumentation just sparkles, and the lyrics by husband and wife team Todd Hunter & Johanna Piggot are just as relevant now as they were in the 80s. I think he held back a bit in this performance; the song has a few high parts that he didn't attempt.

Thanks for another great reaction! You should check out the version with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra as well - it's the opening song of the show, the orchestra really adds something to it, and David Hirschfelder's solo in that one is great as well, and also on a grand piano, which adds that extra bit of epicness :)

@TheCharlieSmithChannel8 ай бұрын
Oh its not to do with his enunciation. I just naturally tune into the music more than I do the words of a song. I have experience and training in production and also playing multiple instruments too so that's probably why. Doesn't matter what song it is or who is singing, I always struggle to make out the lyrics. It's like my brain just isn't tuned that way haha

Charley, I had no problem with the lyrics but then I know the song and love it. John is John, and there is no other like him. Love the way he waves to individual people in the audience and bends down and stretches to accept flowers and cards while still belting out the lyrics and maintaining perfect pitch while he does it. I would have thought that was a physical impossibility !!!

Age Of Reason is one of my favourite John Farnham songs . Age Of Reason is John’s second most successful single after You’re The Voice and it was his last number 1 song in 1988 . Age Of Reason was written by Todd Hunter and his wife Johanna Pigott after John made them a request to write him a song . Todd Hunter is from New Zealand formed but Australian based band Dragon while Todd Hunter’s wife Australian Johanna Pigott Age Of Reason was first number 1 song on the Australian charts written by Australian female songwriter . John apparently still has the original demo with with original Dragon lead singer Mark Hunter singing Age Of Reason . Well Mark Hunter didn’t like the song and was even reluctant to record the demo . Mark Hunter agreed that Age Of Reason shouldn’t be a Dragon song and should be given to John Farnham.

This song is about the New Age of Aquarius , of which we are on the cusp of and which will last for approximately 2,000 years. Aquarius is an air sign, concerned with the mental evolution of consciousness and is group focused, through individual awareness and responsibility, to create a better world. The Second Coming of Christ will herald it in and He may have a different role to play in the world other than with religion ! The Aquarius symbol/glyph is that of waves (of communication).This song is another of John's gifts to us concerning the greater good for the world. The song's composers, Todd Hunter and Johanna Piggot, stated that they felt that another hand was writing this song. John's talent and delivery is wonderful. I love the man's Soul !
