The way Venetta looks at John like a proud Mama. What I love most about this though isn’t even the stellar vocals from all 3. It’s the love and loyalty John has for his invaluable backing vocalists. What a phenomenal, lifelong relationships.

I met John here in Sydney in 2008 when I worked at the ritz Carlton hotel and he was so humble and just had a down to earth conversation with me, it was like I’d known him for years. He didn’t know me from a bar of soap but he asked me how my family was and was just so approachable. I have so much love for that man. God bless

If you liked that, you should check out his performance of Mary's Boy Child and You'll Never Walk Alone from Carol's by candlelight. Since Christmas is at summer in Australia, our big thing is carols by candlelight concerts. They have big singers come up to perform Christmas carols, the audience is there holding carols to read the words of all the carols if you don't know them...you normally take a picnic along with you and its a great night out. 2 of the TV networks do a big show of it though, 1 on Christmas Eve night, coming from Melbourne and another done in Sydney a few nights earlier normally. Then each city and most suburbs in each city tend to have their own carols nights aswell...a lot of the Churches put them on..its a lot of fun. Loved this rendition of Amazing Grace by John! I have been to 6 of his concerts and they are by far the best ones I’ve been to. I remember watching this as it was simulcast live on TV. John is now 73 years old and he still sounds like this!! Amazing performer and great person all round.

John wasn’t belting, he was singing and he can sing anything. Look for a video where he sings Opera with Anthony Warlow. Anthony is a stage singer, one of our very best. John and Olivia Newton John did a 3 month tour with Anthony after some really harsh cancer treatment. That is who John is and the other two.

Vendetta Fields was 1 of Johns backup singers for many years. She also toured with Stevie Wonder (who John is a HUGE fan of) aswell as a lot of other amazing performers. Then Don Johnson there in the white suit 🤣,, no relation to Venetta, is Lindsay Fields and was a backup singer of Johns from the first album and tour after he left Little River Band, up until his today...well, the most recent of performances he had done, anyway...which I think would have been the firefight appeal just before Covid then struck the world. John has in turn also acted as backup singer on 1 or 2 tracks for Lindsay aswell, which is cool. John has always pulled the best singers and musicians to be part of his band. People that have careers in their own rights, whether solo or in a band..Like Jack Jones who was lead singer of Southern Sons aswell as guitar player, would tour with John purely just playing guitar... Richard Marx (Hazard, Right Here Waiting For You etc.) Became a big fan of Johns very early on...somehow picking up an Australian TV or radio station and hearing him. When he toured Australia, he met John,, wrote songs together...at least 4 tracks going on 1 particular album and he actually played piano for John, during a couple of concert...didn't sing a word (as far as I'm aware) was happy to just play piano and share the stage with John during the songs he had helped write. 1 song in particular that was aired on TV during an Aussie awards show (kinda like our Grammy Awards) was aired on the show with Richard Marx playing and can be found on KZbin. So, yeah...it just goes to show his greatness that all these artists with big careers in their own right are willing to take a step back to just play an instrument so they can share the stage with someone of Johns calibre! But anyway, yeah... vendetta Fields and Lindsay Field...or Venetian Field and Lindsay Fields...1 if them has the s and I forget who! 🤣

Ok, Vanetta had to leave the US due to the oppressive, racist, hypocritical and insane christian nationalism movement in the US. She is happy, respected and adored in Australia. We have very little of that BS here. As a devoted anti-theist I can appreciate the beauty, raw power, emotion etc of this song but never forget this is an African/American song written by an Englishman who was heavily involved in the slave trade in America. Of course, slavery is endorsed and openly encouraged in biblical mythology, which Americans still, to this day, follow blindly in their ignorance.
