This one of my favorites. He jokes around at the start then wham! Turns on that magical voice so effortlessly. The minimal instrumentation. And, as always, his humility as he highlights Lisa at the start and the end. I think you captured all that in your reaction. Thanks Roskoe.

Who cares ,he has left us all his music which is his legacy . I never get sick of listening to John Farnham, every performance is beautiful filled with natural talent and passion , he's now at an age where he should be retiring maybe not through what's happened with his health but he can retire whenever without any guilt due to all he has bestowed upon us with his music . He tackles every genre , and nails it and not every artist can do that. Love him and his music , great human being 💕💕💕💕💕💕 Farnsey.

Although born in England he has become a true Aussie, his sense of humour is so Aussie. He is as I believe the best of all time,and his showmanship is just brilliant.After listening to John if feeling down he lift’s you up. I’m a year younger than John so I’ve enjoyed listening to him for many years

You're so right Roscoe, John is not just the greatest singer around, he's a born entertainer and very funny. He likes nothing more than clowning around and sending himself up. You can see how he gives his backup singers a chance to shine. That's why he's so loved and his concerts are huge sellouts! Let's just hope he gets well soon.🥰

Beautiful harmonies. John is always such a funny bugger. And then just launces in with that voice🤩 If Lisa was at all nervous about being front and centre, he certainly puts her at ease with his silliness. And how she keeps a straight face, I'll never know 🤣❤️ .

100% agree Roscoe. John is the consummate performer. I've seen a lot of Australian and (big name) International artists over the years and no one beats John when it comes to making a large venue with 20,000+ people feel so small, intimate and personal. He engages with his crowd like no one else I've seen. They love him and it's obvious that love is reciprocated. It almost feels like he's invited a few of his mates around for a jam session at his place in his garage. Plus his band are absolutely world class and he never fails to acknowledge them and their talent. He always gives them room to shine and never tries to 'step in over the top of them'. Performing artists don't get much better.

Check out. when the war is over from a live show called the last time. Its from 2003, it really shows his vocal range to the limit. He was 53 at the time. One of my favorite performence with him. Obs!!!! not together with jimmy barnes.

Maybe it's my personality but this song (and performance) and 'Burn for You' are my favorite John songs - I love the stripped back instruments and the feel of this particular performance more than any other - his personality showing at the start is a bonus.

John is very funny and could have been a comedian. I love his typical self-depreciating, Aussie humor. As for being the consummate showman - Yes! In an interview about him being a showman he humorously quickly quipped, that he was a 'show-off!' As for styles of music (and yes, that was a bongo drum ) John, as Richard Marx expressed, is a musical chameleon. Adam Stolfo has done a four part series on YT showing all the genres John has sung (which are about twenty, except Disco!?) It is named, 'John Farnham Can Sing Anything'. There you go, Roskoe, a great list to choose from for more of your well presented and well rounded reactions. Lisa does a beautifully, subtle accompaniment here but she can also belt it out, too and is an artist in her own right. And John, as always, gives the credit due. I've been praying, as in some way we all have, that John is being 'lifted up by (healing) angels' in his recovery. He certainly has lifted up others through his music. I received a lovely reply to one of my comments from a blind person about John's musical power. This person mentioned one of the lyrics in a song about going from the darkness to the light/seeing the light in the dark and how John's music got her/him through the hard times of study, obtaining a university degree towards an occupation and career. How wonderful is that! Bless you, John!
