Last rites first blood Maybe a dream but then it's clear enough Can't hide can't sleep Is it the vision or the body heat? True love's when your heart's on fire If I'm the paper you're the sparkin' wire True love's when your heart's on fire One step too deep I made a promise now it's hard to keep One word one kiss Come any closer and you burn like this True love's when your heart's on fire If I'm the paper you're the sparkin' wire True love's when your heart's on fire (x2) You're talking trouble when you move this fast You're never certain that the light will last You've got to wonder when the place will blow Leaving nothing but a bed of coals I made a promise not to fall this time And not to watch another love go blind Not to let another flame burn low Now I'm praying that you won't let go Well all right it's hot stuff It's hard to focus but it's clear enough The weak run, the lost hide The strong forever hold the flame inside True love's when your heart's on fire If I'm the paper you're the sparkin' wire True love's when your heart's on fire (x3)

Saw John Farnham in 1983 at the Village Green Hotel in Melbourne. He was singing Playing to Win with Little River Band , the legendary Joe Wash of the Eagles on lead Guitar Absolutely staggering night. These days I feel I was blessed to see it.

John Farnham, what an Australian icon!!! Hugely talented, and such a very down to earth man. There's nothing Johnny can't sing. I've never, ever heard him sing badly. He's perfection at every concert. He has the most magnificent voice and has a lovely playful & cheeky personality. His performances are always perfection & flawless. That voice of his, he can sing anything! I'll miss seeing him in concert. He's just brilliant. Love you #JohnFarnham Keep strong, you’ve got this. ❤❤❤❤

@Maryann B Well he's actually a British icon because he was born in the United Kingdom and did you know for a fact that you're the Voice was actually by songwriters from the United Kingdom Andy Qunta, Keith Reid, Maggie Ryder, and Chris Thompson, which means it makes You're the Voice a British song.

I heard of him many years ago when he joined I believe the Little River Band. I love his voice. Reminds me of Lou Gramm of Foreigner. The same thing happened when Australia's INXS another one of my favorite bands exposed the US to Jimmy Barnes. Great music down there. One of the places I'm dying to visit.

I have loved the Little River Band since I was a small child (I’m in my 40’s now), with their song “The Other Guy” being one of my favorite - if not absolute favorite - since way back then. That’s one John sang lead on. I’ve also loved Foreigner since all the way back then, Lou being my favorite vocalist of all time. I don’t know how I never realized it, but after reading this I definitely hear the similarity! Both amazing voices 💖

@Rick Andersen I totally agree, this song along with many others John Farnham released could've been a big hit in the UK along with other brilliant Australian artists including Tina Arena, Vanessa Amorosi, Human Nature, Jimmy Barnes and loads more top Australian stars, the UK should've preferred Australia and shared its culture with the UK, as they're both commonwealth countries, instead the UK had to side with America when America has got nothing to do with the UK, I'm ashamed that the UK has gone down route, and I just hope one day the UK will turn to America and say, our friendship with America is finished.

I still laugh when I think the Bridge Inn hotel, of all places, featured in a music video. Every morning I spend around 15-20 minutes, trying to get onto the round about to join the car park that is Plenty Rd, where the pub and "hall" that feature in this video still sit lol Who'd have thought it?

Hi Does anyone know who plays the man is giving the speech? He looks so familiar.
@Friendship1nmillion Жыл бұрын
No , But a fun fact about this song : When it came to John Farnham in its demo tape it was originally written ( by it's songwriters ) with the title " True love is a house on fire " as in the expression " getting along like a house on fire " . John felt the title wasn't best fitting for the song , So he faxed the songwriters asking permission to change the title & chorus line to true love's when your hearts on fire . Which the song authors then replied back ~ Yes you can change it but you can't have any royalties from doing that - which John Farnham wasn't after ( which he laughed about in an Richard Wilkins interview ) . ♑️✍️🇸🇯🇦🇺

@@Friendship1nmillion Didn't know that. It's quite interesting. Thanks for that. It seems the hunt for the speech giving man continues.
