i met john farham once when he was on his last time tour. I didnt realise it was him till after he left. Couldn't believe it, Just wanted to shake his hand and say thankyou for his contribution. Australia hasnt had such a talented male artist in so long. Its kinda sad.

I watch that clip every day, at least once. Amazing throw, brilliant aim, just as well as there was some real force behind it - gives me a giggle everytime. Am so into John, his songs all make me really happy. 8.11.23. UK. E❤

Astonishing. I'm "new" to most of John's songs, 80s was a busy decade for me, and I live in England. So I'm playing catch-up and now have a daily "Farnham fix", which can last hours. The best, he's just the best ever. ❤❤❤

One of my all time favourite songs. Just wondering does anyone know exactly what this song is about? Like has Farnham ever stated in an interview? I've always interpreted it as being about social activism, a calling to humanity to become more aware of the problems we cause and to try and solve them as best we can. Also that the world is changing for the better, but we still have a long way to go. Sorry for the essay haha.

Certainly is a social activist song , the wall refers to the Berlin wall , the destruction of the jubilation of a unified Germany. Many other things are quoted. Dictators wearing designer clothes with the saying clothes dont always make the man. Reference to the preacher and can he save your soul. It is a song of hope and the coming together of man. unfortunately our world is in a deep dark place at present. I grew up in the 80's withe the constant threat of the annihilation of the world only to see it happening again. i really believe that as good as mankind is we have a long long way to go.i guess as you wrote this 4 years ago the world definitely was a different place .As with all things planetary and in nature everything is cyclical . Hers hoping we we are now is a short cycle to a longer cycle of peace and prosperity for planet earth
