the wonderful sound of rain on a tin roof with a light show and deep rumbling of thunder that astonishes and all we can manage is to be still, in awe and take it in as we sit on the verandah. only a few of us knows what an experience that is , then you can't go anywhere because the creeks are up . johns incredible music is different from other country and western ,where when you play it backwards you get your dog back ,then the ute ,then the mrs . john's is about hope and looking forward with a quite expectation .

when i see venetta with her aussie family ,this is what i get, this musically arranged marriage was made in heaven and she's muma bear with the kids . the thoughts of "we protect those we love " comes to mind with her . she would have been so protective of every one in that band . and she has such a regal face and bearing clothed in dignity and grace . and i bet she could kick some arse and get some things moving in her prayer closet .i hope they recognise and acknowledge her contribution to their success. they were lucky to have her and so are we .

A song that encapsulates our "gold country" of "wide brown land" and, in my opinion, the theme song for some of our rural farmers who have, indeed, been praying and waiting for rain for a long while. When rural Queensland and New South Wales had some of those saving rains, it not only became the "talk of the town, " but the talk of the country. However, we're a long way off from breaking the drought yet, we can only hope that more rain comes down.
