As an Australian, it has been more recently that I have come to appreciate this man much more than I did when I was younger. Watching the world discover his talent has given me some pause for thought. It is amazing how as humans we always seem to fall into the trap of not understanding what we have until there is a threat that we might lose it. He truly IS great. His greatness as an all-round entertainer is incomparable. When in the audience he connects with us - as though we are, each one of us, chatting with him at a small gathering. He is endearingly irreverent and humbly INCREDIBLE. He brings laughter with (really good!!) jokes, banter with the band, stories and anecdotes - he almost magically creates an intimate and warm atmosphere in even the largest arenas. Then there are the powerfully authentic performances from every member of the band. A John Farnham concert is an experience, a gift to one's soul. Honestly, he gives so much of himself it's breathtaking. And the songs so often have powerfully moving and uplifting themes which he conveys with heartbreaking candour through his unmatchable, beautiful voice, and immeasurable soulfulness. THIS is his greatness. I'm so grateful to have experienced it live. I'm so happy that there are these recordings of him doing his magic for the World to see and hear. Thank you both for sharing this, and thank you Mr John Farnham.
