Modern Renaissance Man You may have noticed the crowds in our awards ceremonies are a little more animated In the audience at video point 3:32 is Glenn Wheatley with his hand on his wife's shoulder/ Wheatley is Farnham's friend and manager. Wheatley had been the bass player in an earlier Aussie band; The Masters Apprentices. When he left that band he went into music management. John Farnham was a long-standing feature in the music industry here... known as Johnny Farnham. He and Wheatley became good mates. Farnham spent time as the frontman of The Little River Band before wanting to do his own thing. Wheatley financed the album - what would become "Whispering Jack" by putting his own house into hock. "Whispering Jack" - which features "You're the Voice" was a massive commercial success and he got repaid the money many times over. He had put his money up to back his mate and it paid off It would also be good if you could look at "Because I Love You" by The Masters Apprentices kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXyoY5ujnN-IndE

As we came out into the parking area with the horse floats, he let me tie my horse to his trailer as I didn’t have a trailer of my own. He had told me his name was John, it wasn’t till very late that day after he left, that I learned his full name was John Farnham. When John was 70 they didn’t have to change his music at all. He sounded just like that. He is now 72. I loved that you had a blonde couple standing in that video. That was his friend and manager Glenn Wheatley with his wife Gaynor. When no one in America or here would make John’s album whispering Jack. Glenn mortgaged his home to do it. When no one would play it Glenn didn’t give up until the people heard it and demanded it was played. It stayed at number one for 26 weeks. Not even Michael Jackson could move it. That song was the last song put on that album. John and Glenn have always been family to us all. A week ago we lost Glenn to complications from Covid. I don’t think John will sing again and that is our loss but I will understand why.

I love this song , Aussie Anthem. This is a retired John Farnam if you watch the original 80s version his voice was even more powerful if you can believe it. He's actually a beautiful down to earth guy too. ❤🌟

If you want to see him interact with a crowd you need to look for the Concert he did for the troops at Dilli - it was in 1999 I think, they broadcast it and I remember watching it on TV

John Farnham is the ultimate performer. His voice is phenomenal but he is also known for how funny he is on stage in talking to the audience.

G'Day, John Farnham has been an Aussie icon, he started recording in 1967. Cold Chisel recorded an icon song in Australia called Khe Sanh, highly reccommended.
