Amazing. Mr Fogerty is in time, on pitch, reserve for belting notes, and still singing all of the transition notes. Much younger singers like bon Jovi are a trainwreck

You're right, Kyle. And it appears he's still doing things in their original key. I'm 69 and play in a couple of small combos, and I have a heck of a time trying to maintain vocal stamina. I don't see how he does it!

"Who'll Stop The Rain" Long as I remember The rain been comin' down Clouds of mystery pourin' Confusion on the ground Good men through the ages Tryin' to find the sun And I wonder Still, I wonder Who'll stop the rain I went down Virginia Seekin' shelter from the storm Caught up in the fable I watched the tower grow Five-year plans and new deals Wrapped in golden chains And I wonder Still, I wonder Who'll stop the rain Heard the singers playin' How we cheered for more The crowd had rushed together Tryin' to keep warm Still, the rain kept pourin' Fallin' on my ears And I wonder Still I wonder Who'll stop the rain

Interesting story about his Ricky 325. I’m glad John got his back. I once owned a Rickenbacker 325 “John Lennon” Hamburg model. It got knocked off in the early 1990’s and was never to be seen again unfortunately
@allymayful2 жыл бұрын
So good to hear John so chatty - even mentioning his old band in a relaxed way. A little different to when l saw him with CCR in 1972 in Melbourne. Brilliant music but we were lucky if we got 2 sentence from him. One was complaining about Melbourne’s s rain :)
@jeffcuthbert6078 Жыл бұрын
Was surprised to see how little he spoke to the audience in Netflix's "Travelin' Band: Creedence Clearwater Revival at the Royal Albert Hall". Your comment indicates it didn't improve much the more they toured. If he wasn't up to it at the time, it's too bad they didn't have someone like Stu Cook (who was very amiable) engage with the audience somewhat during the show. But, it really was John's band after all.
@allymayful Жыл бұрын
@@jeffcuthbert6078 More understandable, now that we know how complex their politics were at the time, esp as his brother had already left when he came to Melbourne. Plus another friend who was there told me cos of the heavy rain, there were leaks on the stage. I can imagine how he felt about that!!! I can remember thinking for years how l might as well have stayed home and listened to their LPs., cos it was no different. Now l feel privileged to realise that l was at an amazing live performance. Have loved catching up with his whole story since then thru KZbin. A great inspiration to persevere thru the challenges, as you never know when it all comes together.

@allymayful hi ally ..can i ask what other great bands did you see in Melbourne back then? I was too young still to see bands in 72 and Perth always missed out on big acts back then ..masters apprentices were a favourite of mine as a kid.still are actually 😊
@allymayful Жыл бұрын
@@ACDZ123 Loved them but never got to see them. But adored the Easybeats and also never got to see them. Although l got to see one of the early AC/DC shows at Sebastions, a Nightclub in Melbourne. At Festival Hall l saw the Bee Gees return to Australia after their 1st international success. With one foot in 2 eras, l also saw a couple of Cliff Richard concerts. Plus 2 sensational Johnny O’Keefe ones. Also Judith Durham solo after she left The Seekers. I also did a couple of Sunbury Festivals., where Billy Thorpe starred. I live in Perth now, and l have some friends who talk of wonderful concerts at Beatty Park, in those days.
