This song and Untitled #2 from his solo debut feel like a showcase of the style that John fully adopted after rejoining RHCP. The choruses and overdubs also sound quite Josh-y.

I got a bad disease Out from my brain is where I bleed Insanity it seems Has got me by my soul to squeeze With all the love from me With all the dyin' trees, I scream The angels in my dream, yeah Had turned to demons of greed, that's mean Where I go, I just don't know I got to, got to, gotta take it slow When I find my peace of mind I'm gonna give you some of my good time Today love smiled on me He took away my pain, said, "Please" "I'll let your ride be free" "You gotta let it be, oh, yeah" Where I go, I just don't know I got to, gotta, gotta take it slow When I find my peace of mind I'm gonna give ya some of my good time Yeah! Oh, so polite indeed Well, I got everything I need I'll make my days a breeze And take away my self-destruction It's bitter baby and it's very sweet Holy rollercoaster, but I'm on my feet Take me to the river, let me on your shore I'll be comin' back maybe, I'll be comin' back for more Doo-doo dingle zing a dong bone Ba-di ba-da ba-zumba crunga cong gone bad I could not forget, but I will not endeavor Simple pleasures are much better but I won't regret it never Where I go, I just don't know I got to, got to, gotta take it slow When I find my peace of mind I'm gonna give you some of my good time Where I go, I just don't know I might end up somewhere in Mexico When I find my peace of mind I'm gonna keep ya for the end of time

John is a true example of less is more. For you newbies starting out on guitar on your journey when you learn to suit to the song its needs look back on this tune as a fine example. Flea holds the fort down and John peppers just what is needed. What an awesome band always.

@RedHotBSSM5 жыл бұрын
Daniel Reverter The fact is that there are no version of this song as a multitrack. This was done using some effects like vocal remover on an audio software by someone else. For some song it works for others doesn’t. In this case it worked but the basslines are not there. The best thing someone can do is to pick up a bass and record over it. :D

Pretty sure it’s a strat because there s a small video of John recording this song with a strat. Also I have never seen John with a tele before 1999. Last, I think he used a jaguar for the overdubs (and the solo)

There’s some nice slide playing on “Scar Tissue.”I just played the slide on a Telecaster into my Fender Showman amp. My favorite slide guitarist is Snake Finger. His influence isn’t evident on the song, but that’s how I practice slide: from playing along with him and Jimmy Page. “Soul to Squeeze” [Chili Peppers’ single from the Coneheads soundtrack, recorded during the BloodSugar sessions] has slide, too. That was a Gibson lap-steel, and I wasn’t playing it with a slide, I was using a spice jar.
