The only time I joined a fan club was when I fell in love with John Gary's superb voice. I saw him first as a guest on an afternoon talk show. Think it was Mike Douglas, or Merv Griffin. Can't remember that, but never forgot "the voice", and his way with lyrics.

Thanks for sharing. That sounded like one heck of a show to be at going by the sound of all the folk's energy and appreciation in the room. John Gary was an amazing talent and treasure. I remember hearing him for the first time years ago when my Dad played a record of his singing Unchained Melody. He probably has the best breath control I've ever heard. I've got another record album that has a little biography on it of him and his achievements and talents are amazing. He seems like he was a really good man.
